My dr basically confirmed everything I already knew in my heart, but I'm still glad I went in to get it confirmed - especially since DH thought I was crazy thinking the faint lines meant I was pregnant. He didn't really understand the whole "a line is a line" thing so now he understands what happened.

I love my dr and I know she is not supposed to be a therapist, but it was hard to hear her just give the scientific explanation of what happened and imply that I should be ok with it because it's a common thing and it was "only a few cells" not developing correctly. I guess I was expecting her to be just a little bit sad with me. I was surprised at how emotionally attached I got to the little "cells" as soon as I got the BFP. Sigh. At least she said we are ok to start trying again, and recommended folic acid in addition to my prenatal vitamins.

Now my question for anyone who has gone through something similar (which I forgot to ask my dr)...how do you start charting for the next cycle? I've just started temping. I started bleeding around the time I would normally get AF, so would that first day be CD 1 or do I count all of this as one long cycle until the next, real AF shows up and start TTC after that? So confused!

I am so sorry hun I think it is easy for the doctors to get a little jaded since it is something they see all the time.

Yes CD1 is the first day of bleeding where you need protecion (pad or tampon etc). So I would start temping now and start TTC right away since your doctor cleared you as long as you are emotionally ready.

Thanks, momology. Somehow those cute little hug smilies really do help. And thanks for the help on charting. That's what I thought and I've already started temping, but wasn't entirely sure!

*hugs*

I hate the "it's not really a baby." Seriously I'm informing my next ob they are not allowed to stay it to me.

I'm sorry that the doctor handled the situation like they did. Hugs!! I agree with Elle, they are jaded and things like that look different when you are only looking at it scientifically. Hope your charting goes well!

I'm sorry that you are going through this.

But I'm with Elle, if you feel emotionally ready, get back on the wagon. Wishing you lots of luck and strength!

HEy there, when I had my CP they were like well your levels are only at a 4 so technically your not pregnant. They were so rude. It has taken my body a few months to get back to normal. Doctors should have a more sensitive side when it comes to things like this in my opinion.

A lot of doctors seem to need sensitivity training on bedside manners! No wonder so many people have a fear of going to the doctors. I'm glad your husband understands better now though and hopefully the folic acid helps.

I am so sorry sweetie
I went through this 2 months ago (mine was a bit more complicated as the pregnancy was in my tube... But it was an early miscarriage before we found out it was etopic)

When my Dr thought it was a chemical she told me to start charting CD 1 as the first day I started bleeding as if it were my AF

Again I am so terribly sorry, if you need someone to talk to about it you can message me, I know how hard it is. Especially when drs act as if it is not a big deal.
