I'm trying to figure out if I should continue using OPKs or what. Let me give you the scoop here with two disclaimers: 1- I had two 3-day cycles of Cipro last week 2-this is my second cycle after IUD removal
On Th 7/11 an evening OPK is negative (see pic below). It is the first OPK I used this cycle. All subsequent OPKs have been lighter. Although I realized just now that w/ the exception of last nights (which was lighter) I used the others before 4 p.m. I had luck last cycle OPKing after work, so like 6 p.m. or later.
On Saturday and Sunday I was wet. Had a big glob of EWCM once on Sunday. Also my CP was high and open yesterday (I felt a slit, so that's considered open, correct?)
Today I don't feel wet anymore and I don't feel the opening -- cervix seems to be harder today, too.
I didn't see a temp rise this a.m. I know that's the only way to tell if I did ovulate, so maybe tomorrow a.m. I'll see a rise? At first I thought maybe I missed my surge but I'd have had a high temps by now.
I'm just not sure -- it's weird that I'm seeing conflicting things. Last cycle I had so much EWCM and clearly positive OPKs that it was a no-brainer. Maybe the Cipro is throwing off my EWCM? I know your body can gear up to O and then not, but would I have EWCM and an open cervix if I wasn't ovulating??
It wouldnt be unheard of to O at CD12 (which I think you were on thursday) so you could have missed your surge. What was your CM doing then?
Given that youve had more CM the last couple of days and your CP, its sounds promising that maybe you didnt O then but might have now. Are you just doing one OPK per day? You could have had a short surge and missed it?
Either way, your temps over the next couple of days should answer a few questions for you
I feel like the only way OPKs work for me is to take them at the exact same time today drinking the same amount of fluid before or else they are just all confusing. I also see that you temped at a different time this morning - was it significant or just a little off?
I think you just have to take in all the information you can and then look at it all and try to get the big picture. Maybe the antibiotics are affecting your temps or maybe something else is? Either way my usual answer is just keep up the BDing just in case.
I have been seeing some conflicting signs this cycle too I know how frustrating it can be!!!
Thank you *Kiliki* for the amazing new siggy!!
When you gear up and fail to O, you have all the usual O lead up, then just don't O.
Here's an example
But the reality is.. you were on antibiotics. You could O late... in more than 50% of my cycles I wouldn't even be thinking of Oing until about this time for you. LOL.
so don't feel too down yet... you still have LOTS of time!

Low at 97.6. No O yet, although lots of EWCM today.
This is total TMI (not much grosses me out but this kinda does): After I have a bowel movement it's so much easier to tell what kind of CM I have at that moment, I guess because CM gets pushed down further when you're "straining" elsewhere.
