My last period began on august 20th, ended around august 25. When did I likely ovulate? 14 days after Aug 20th?

somewhere between 12 and 20 days after the beginning of your last period you should ovulate.

14 days is a generalization... we aren't cookie cutters so there's no guarantee that we will ovulate like each other.

Ashley - most people who do chart do not actually ovulate on CD14 but somewhere in the range Ashley mentioned and many women do not ovulate on the same day every cycle. I tend to range from CD18 - CD22 so with out using OPKs and charting my temps I would not really know when I ovulated.

I pay very close attention to my body when I O and that's honestly after 8 months of paying super close attention to everything, including CM, CP and O pains. Even then it is not a 100% guaranteed that I O. I typically range from CD 18-23.

As Ashley and Elle said, unfortunately we are not all cookie cutters and O on CD14. Though that would be lovely.

I'm on CD 22 and yesterday i had bad cramps. Kind of felt like gas pains, kind of felt like menstrual cramps. I was assuming I had ovulated around CD14, 15, but it sounds like it could be now? AF is due in 7 days.

Hows your cervical mucous been? If its watery or eggwhite it could be ovulation, if its more creamy you could be post O

It's more on the creamy side. I actually have not seen the egg white kind in a while.

Hi molly I started my period on 8/21 and ended around the 27th and I used opk's and it came up positive for me on the 6th meaning i would O within the next 14-36 hours so I'm assuming I O'd on the 7th i know we all aren't the same but my fertility calendars said my fertile days were between 3-8th I'm hoping since our cycles are so close (assuming your cycle is 28 days) this helps you a little. I find the opk's very helpful. This is my first cycle TTC so it is helpful I was going to do BBT but I'm up a lot at night with our dogs so that wouldn't work but if you sleep through the night without interruption I would try BBT with opk's might give you a more precise answer as to when you O.

Thanks Gcarr that is helpful! I am thinking I O'ed around the same time you did, but I dont know for sure. Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out in this next cycle because it doesn't seem like I'm going to be able to figure it out in this one. AF is coming in 6 days. I have no symptoms of being PG. I'm bloated, but that is likely PMS plus it was 95 degrees here today. I just really hope I can figure out when I"m ovulating! I bought an EPT ovulation monitor and I dont think I can use it until day 5 after AF ends. CD 5. I've never in my life paid so much attention to my cycle until this past month. I guess i'm late in the game!

Welcome to the world of tracking cycles! Unfortunately there is no way to confirm that you have O'ed at this point. However, at least now you can start fresh next month! You may want to invest in a basal body thermometer to keep track of your temperatures. You want to take your temp at the same time every day before you even sit up in bed (and after at least 3 hours of sleep). You could also start noting cervical mucous every day as that is a great indicator of your most fertile days. Sounds like you have a good start with the EPT monitor though! How much did that cost you?

Thanks I will give the temperature thing a try. The EPT kit was around $45 I think. I got it at CVS.
