Hi all! I'm new here and so happy i will be able to chat with ladies going through some of the same things as me. This is my first cycle my DH and I are TTC. I stopped my BC at like the end of July bc i was supposed to start my period and i didnt start so i took a HPT and BFN so i stopped my BC to get my cycle back on track, shortly after the hubby and i decided we wanted to start trying. I started my period on 8/21 and ended around the 27th and I used opk's and it came up positive for me on the 6th meaning i would O within the next 24-36 hours so I'm assuming I O'd on the 7th my fertility calendars said my fertile days were between 3-8th so we BD on 1, 6,7,8th. This is my first cycle TTC so it is helpful and i was going to do BBT but I'm up a lot at night with our dogs so that wouldn't work but I'm hoping the opk's are good enough.

Hi there!! Welcome to the board!! I am Elle

It can take a few cycles to get your body on track after coming off of BCP (for me it took about 6 months) but I hope it goes much faster for you!! Fx that your stay on this board is short and sweet and you get your BFP soon! Look forward to getting to know you

You're on the same cycle as me lol. Almost exactly. I couldn't stick with doing the BBT either. I kept forgetting to use it every morning despite the fact that I kept it right next to my phone. I just use the OPK's as well. I tracked for a few months before we actually started TTC because I wanted to figure out my cycle. This month is the first month we're TTC so I'm playing the waiting game right along with you haha. One more week.

Welcome to our little TTC family! I hope your stay is short and sweet! As Elle said, it can take awhile for your body to regulate. 6-12 months is normal. I hope it doesn't take that long for you though! Good luck and feel free to ask us any questions! You and I will be testing the same day as well! Fingers crossed!

Welcome and Good luck.

An opk is a sign your body is surging, but be aware, they do not actually confirm ovulation.

Thanks everyone! I have been reading that you guys say that you get different symptoms but you also know that you're paying more attention to your body more now than before so it could be something you experience all the time but you kind of just didn't notice it before; but I've been kind of having dull annoying cramps since yesterday (4DPO today) anyone else experience this?

Hi &

The other ladies have already offered some great advice. I just wanted to recommend a book called taking charge of your fertility. Its a really good resource when your starting out with ttc. Good luck and let us know how it goes when you test!

WElcome!!

I hope you enjoy your time here, everyone is very helpful and supportive- no matter what! My name is Kelley- I wish you luck on your TTC adventure! I have been TTC actively since June 2012- we got our first BFP in January which sadly ended in a miscarriage. We took a short break to plan our wedding and we are back to TTC now.

Good luck to you!

Hi there and welcome to the board!! I hope your stay is short and sweet but you couldn't have picked a more supportive board to whittle away the time in.

I'm Shandy (27) and DH is 30 and we have been TTC since February. I used to track but it got really stressful so now I am just very casual about the process. The tracking definitely helped me though because it confirmed that I was ovulating and about when in my cycle I usually ovulate.

for a quick BFP for you...

So I've been feeling crampy and not knowing if my cycle is back to normal i took a HPT and an opk test.... One just in case I ovulated earlier than I thought and maybe I possibly i was preggo and two if not i wanted to see if maybe I ovulated late both came up negative. Ugh wish I knew if my cycle was back to normal so I have a better idea of when I O etc.
