So...last cycle was my first since ending BCP....and it was a "normal" 36 day cycle for me. I've never been one to have 28 day cycles except for when on the pill. So, last cycle I had O pains on CD23 and then AF showed up on CD36. Well....this cycle I'm a little bit thrown off. Today is CD14, and I am thinking I may have O'ed last night, or am going to today. I have all the normal symptoms that I usually get...pinching pain on my lower right side, cramping along my panty line on the right, lots of CM, headache. I'm frustrated though....I was going to get an OPK for this cycle so I had a better idea of timing, but now I'm maybe too late! If I were to get one tomorrow, but I already O'ed either last night or today....would tomorrow's test be negative? I've never used one before so I'm not sure how they work. Either way....we BD'ed Monday, Tuesday, and will be BD'ing again tonight, so hopefully if I DID O, we'll catch that eggie! I've always loved having 36 day cycles....but now that we're TTC, 28 days would mean a lot less waiting around! Has anyone had a cycle like this....possibly O'ing 10 days earlier than the cycle before? I know anything is possible....I just thought that since my first natural cycle after ending BCP was so normal for me, I'd be one of the lucky ones that didn't have a wacky irregular time getting my cycle back on track!
If you do get the OPKs then they will still show lightening lines but you may not see an actual positive. (A positive is when the test line is as dark or darker than the control line) so you could potentially catch the end of your LH surge although I am not sure how helpful that would be.
Coming off of BCP can do crazy thing to our bodies. When I first came off of BCP I Od anywhere from CD18 to CD30 it was very frustrating!! So it is possible that you are actually Oing earlier or it could mean that your body is gearing up to O but may not make it (which would also make OPKs not terrible helpful. . . ) It is so hard to say. It sounds like you have been covering your bases either way!!
Thank you *Kiliki* for the amazing siggy!!
