Me and my husband are trying for baby #1 and we are complete newbies to this whole thing! we are anxious to get our little family started, so of course this hopeful mommy-to-be has some questions. So, according to my ovulation chart, my peak ovulation day was July 21st, my "fertility window" being the 18th-23rd. me and hubby did the "baby dance" every day in that window...hoping we got it right this time around. Today is the 1st, and my period is due in 3 days (14dpo)...well, the past few days ive had some lower abdominal cramping, been a little more constipated than normal and this morning i had light brown spotting with thick white CM since i ovulated. im sorry that was a little much but im sending myself into a panic hoping this was implantation spotting. my AF is due in three days, and im anxious to take a test, but i took one the 25th and it was a BFN. (4 days after ovulation may have been too early...lol) baby fever has definitely set in, and im anxious to see if this cycle was our cycle!

update: AF is due to make her appearance TODAY--its August 4th, but no sign of her anywhere! Saturday night (the 2nd) I had ALOT of creamy CM, i thought i had started AF bc it was so much..and it continued to be alot Sunday, so much that i had to wear panty liners, and ive NEVER had that problem before.. going to test T
his afternoon when i get home just to be on the safe side!

Well..AF didnt show up yesterday OR today, and i took a Dollar General cheap HPT this morning, and it was BFN. i still have thick white CM,im exhausted by noon every day(which is NOT normal for me), and lower abdomen twinges... and i checked my cervix last night and again this morning and its High and soft, i almost couldnt find it... . Im going to wait a few more days and see if AF shows up..but i dont have any of my normal symptoms of her arrival. I know my body well enough to know when AF is on her way, and she's not. So..im confused. maybe i tested too early since its only day 2 of my missed period?

3 days late:
still no sign of AF and im getting anxious... Checked my cervix this morning and its still really high and soft..i almost cant find it! and the milky white CM is still there too. I started having mild cramping again in my lower back and almost in my pelvis, but nothing like my usual PMS symptoms, they're much lower actually. Hoping by friday or saturday i will have my !! Any one else have a late period, test 2 days late and get a BFN, then wait a week and get their BFP?

Just lurking...

I tested 2-3 days late with DD2, and it took the entire time limit for the test to barely show up. When a nurse tested me a day later, she told me she thought it was negative and only waited several minutes for the test to show up because I was so certain of it.

You may have ovulated on the late side as well, and that could give you a later test window. Good luck! I hope this is it for you. Those signs sound promising.

Day 4: Still no AF Woke up this morning with slightly sore boobies and no sign of AF.
No change on the thick CM and high soft cervix! Still not testing til next week to not get my hopes up...but its hard when all the signs are pointing in the right direction!!!

Spyctre, i used 2 of the cheapest tests bc i still figured it was too early to get a positive, so im waiting til saturday or sunday (a week after AF was due) to test. And thank you! I would LOVE for this to be our cycle, but we can always use the practice if it isnt

Faint negative? Do you mean the control line was barely there or you got a barely there second line?

By the day AF is due almost all women will have a positive pregnancy test. There are a few women who just do not test well with home tests.

Likely you ovulated late which would make you feel late, when you aren't. *hugs*

What kind of chart are you using? Just a calendar one or are you temping? Generic charts aren't effective as most women are not textbook cases for ovulation. Temping is really the best way to know if you are ovulating or not.

I remember how excited I was with I first started TTC. Just don't waste as much on hpt's as I did! lol If you want to learn as fast as possible, start charting. Start tomorrow. You may think you have already ovulated(late) but you may still have yet to ovulate.

You can get a delayed O from from regular stress or even stress brought on by extreme excitement. Like getting excited about getting pregnant. =) I had one cycle where I didn't ovulate for over 60 days. Start temping now. You may still catch it!

Good luck and baby dust. I hope you don't have long to wait.
