My doc said to stay away from them. I take prenatal vitamins and take Mucinex only around my O time to help with CM. Wishing you lots of luck, and I would not take those fertility blend things, most docs do not recommend them. Have fun!

Mucinex is an expectorant, that is, it is a drug that loosens phlegm - it is designed to loosen & thin bronchial secreations. It is a non-prescription drug - my DH buys it whenever he get a chest cold. I guess it would make sense to use for CM, it is similar to Robitussin (in that it is an expectorant).

Sorry I did not respond sooner!

Mucinex was recommended by my doc (fertility specialist) because I am on clomid and it makes cm dry. I take 2-600mg tablets in the am and then 2-600mg tablets in the pm. I take it only around my fertile period and then stop after I know that I have O'd. You should not take it past that. It really will help thin it out. It is better than Robitussin because as my doc explained it Robitussin only lasts a couple of hours whereas Mucinex works as extended release and covers you until the next dose. Make sure to only buy the one with the active ingredient with the "G" word. There should only be 1active ingredient. Buy the 600mg tablets, and take the 2-600mg in am and 2-600mg tablets in the pm. Stop after you O. Don't use the monitoring of your cm to tell you your fertile period because the mucinex will give you an abundance and it will be wet. Good luck and pm me if you need anything!

It might not be worth going to get it this month, it is best to use it for the bd time leading up to O, it might not do much now since you are O'ing so soon.
