I know it's been forever since i've posted a real update on me, so here goes. I'll try not to make this long, it's just so frustrating. I haven't had a period in 2 1/2 months and I keep getting BFN on hpt. I called the Dr. about it and after playing phone tag for a week, I finally went in to see them. They did a pregnancy test (of course it was BFN) and they drew blood to test hormone levels, gluclose and insulin level (i think?) Well, they were supposed to call me last Wednesday with the result and to make another appt. She said she thinks I might have PCOS. But no one's called me yet. I'm so frustrated and I don't know what to do. I know ya'll are going to say FIND ANOTHER DR. but I just switched to this one and I'm afraid my insurance wont cover the same tests again. Anybody else have irregular periods like this?? What did they do for it? I've had this problem ever since i was 13 and all dr's did was put me on BCP to regulate my periods. I didn't know it was really a problem until I started TTC. It was always normal for me. But now, I'm scared that i wont be able to get pregnant or that it'll take forever. It's only been 5 months now. I just feel so alone. No one knows we're TTC, so they don't know that Ive been going to the Dr about it. DH tries to be supportive, but i just think he doesn't really understand about PCOS and everything. Sorry, it's so long. I just needed to vent.

I haven't really posted on this particular board, but I read your message and wanted to let you know that I am sorry. I know what a frustrating time this is--I have been ttc for a year and a half. Very few people know with me which makes JM that much better for me because I have so few people to talk to. I also know how frustrating it can be when no one--including the drs--have answers for you. I just wanted to let you know that I understand what you are going through and I am sorry. I am thinking about you. Take care of yourself and good luck.

I am sorry you are going through this and your doctor is unresponsive. I hope you can get the answers you need soon and your cycles get back on track. TTCing is hard as it is and even harder when you body won't cooperate. Good luck hun.

I'm sorry sweetie. I don't know how things work where you are, but here when someone switches doctors, the old doctor has to forward your whole chart (including recent test results) to the new doctor. So, if it's the same with you, you shouldn't need to have the tests again, you just would get the new doctor to analyze the results. If you decide to do this, I would tell the new doctor why you are seeking a new doctor so that he/she will not be unresponsive as well.

Good luck hun

I went through the same thing with docs. I've also not had regular periods since I started having them at all, and I have some repro issues in addition. I'd go months (and a couple of years) without one, and then I'd bleed for weeks on end. On top of that, I had some other pretty serious problems and managed to get pregnant--by accident! (Did not go to term.) After that, I've had a few months of reg periods in a row, then as erratic as ever. I asked the doc and she said that even without reg periods, as long as I was ovulating in there somewhere, it wouldn't matter. Talk with this doc and have that office request your info--sometimes it makes things go faster!

I wish you best of luck and I know that there's hope!!!

Just wanted to say if you switch Drs. you shouldn't have to have the same tests all done again.....the new Dr. can get your records from your old Dr. (with your permission in writing, of course). So don't let that be why you don't switch!

Hang in there....

just wanted to let you know that i know how you feel. I have irregular periods also and I have been ttc for over a year now. i went to the doctor one time that iwas bleeding for weeks at a time and the gave me a hormone pill. it was not bc and my periods got to be normal for a little while. is your doctor a OB-GYN? them are the best ones to see while ttc because most of them specialize in infertillity. If you decide to go to another doctor all you have to do is tell them the test you have had run and get your medical records sent to them.
