Does anyone have experience with reoccuring ear infection? I've been having it on and off since May 2006 when I flew back home from Los Angeles honeymoon. I am soooo sick of it. 3 different doctors say i have swimmer's ear, minor ear infection, ear infection...... let me describe the pain.. it goes behind my ear to my throat and feels numb...when i pull my ear it really hurts!! I went to the doctor last week.. she said she saw swelling red yellow?? and told me to put peroxide and rubbing alcohol mix with water to evaporate the water after i take a shower. she told me NO qtip cuz i use it to get rid of heavy wax i always get every morning. she said qtip pushes the wax in and builds up ear infection.
i am just SOOOO sick of it.. i want to shoot my left ear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any advices???

I am sorry Aaron! The only thing I can think of is to keep it dry as much as possible and definately don't use qtips. Your ears need some wax. I remember when I was little and I had swimmers ear my mom thought it was an infection and bought one of those OTC ear cleaning kits. It made it worse because I already didn't have enough wax from the swimmer's ear that's why it was hurting. They have ear plugs you can get to put in your ear when you shower (don't push them in the acutal ear canal...just outside it and it will form a seal). Try ibuprophen for the pain.

April... I am beginning to think maybe I have food allergy. The more I researched online.... i keep seeing if you have recurring ear infection it is more likely from food allergy.
I use ear mold when i shower.
sighs im sick of it.

Ear pain is the WORST! I sympathize with you Aaron Nicole ... I actually used to be a smoker years ago and suffered from CHRONIC ear and sinus infections!!!!! It was horrible ... Funny enough I quit and have not had an ear infection since (i still get the odd sinus infection but have nasty allergies and it seems to come along with them ) The only thing that worked for me - and being in Canada I am not sure if is available where you are? Is "Polysporin Ear and Eye Drops" ... i got it over the counter at Wal Mart and it was fairly inexpensive! It has been awhile again since i used it but it worked like a charm when I was at a loss You never know!? LOL I am not sure how this would be during TTC though? (you know me lol such a newbie LOL)

In the meantime though I hope you are feeling BETTER!!!! keep us posted

Have you been to an ENT yet? I would really keep an eye on it. My BIL's gf just had to have a bone removed from her ear b/c the infection got so bad.
