Ok, i havnt yet got a BFP, but i decided to take prenatal pills cause i know that they are good for you.. kinda like a mulitvitamin. but i normally take a multivitamin everyday as part of my routine, so should i take both or cut the other vitamin out? i am confused! what would happen if i took both at the same time?

I would not take both b/c if you get too much protien you can get gout... now i do not know if vitamins have alot of protien, but i would assume they do... and you do not want gout! :-) But yea... the prenatal vitamn is more than sufficient to meet your need for a multivitamin unless you need alot of something specifically. I take NatalCare Plus. basically a prenatal vitamin contains the recommended folic acid and other good stuff (I AM NOT BIG ON TECHNICAL TERMS! LOL) ... that is ver important for baby. ;-) *babydust*

don't forget to take EFAs as well! it's essential for brain development, & you can start taking it while you are ttcing, to build up levels.

yeah, just make sure if you eat salmon, it's wild (pacific, not atlantic) and don't eat a lot of tuna.

get a good capsule of you can take the oil itself. personally, i can't do it. i hated the feeling of it in my throat. bleh! but i'm doing capsules now & it's fine.

I'm taking lechitin for the choline. (I read that it can raise a child's IQ if taken in utero, but check with your doctor, don't take it from me.)

Is that the same as an EFA?

Probably best not to take both the prenatal with the regular multivit -- too much vitamin A can cause birth defects.
