Hey all...

I have a question and I am hoping someone has an answer for me.

Let me share the details. Normally I have regular period... it comes every month on the 15th ( very rarely does it fluxuate). However, last month I had some mega stress and it ended up pushing ovulation back a week and therefore pushing AF back as week as well (she came on the 22).

However, I am pretty sure I ovulated the normal time (around Oct. 1-4). Now, my question is... do I go back to the 15th as my AF due date (which if that is the case, I am two days late) or do I stay with the 22? HELP!!!

Thanks a bunch in advanced!

Paula

Did you use a ovulation predictor to confirm that you did? If you have been charting or tracking and are pretty sure you did, then yes you are late...if you're sorta sure, then I would wait a little longer before testing....hope its a BFP tho!

I agree. Did you chart or take OPKs to know when you ovulated. If you O'ed on the 4th, then you'll be 13 DPO today. I really wouldn't know what to tell you. I hope you get a BFP.

COME ON BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some background on cycles:

Our cycles are in two phases: The follicle phase (FP) and the luteal phase (LP). FP is the time from the first day of your period until ovulation day. The FP can vary in length, particularly if you are stressed. Your LP is from 1 DPO until the day before you period starts. Your LP rarely varies by more than a day or two (unless of course when you get a BFP). LP are typically 12 to 15 days long, but may be as short at 10 days or as long as 16 (anything shorter than 10 is considered a potential fertility issue and they rarely go longer than 16 days - if not pregnant). On average they are 14 days long.

So assuming you O'd somewhere around October 1 to the 4th and you have a 14 day long LP then your expected AF days would be:

If you O'd on the 1st - AF would have been due Oct 16
If you O'd on the 2nd - AF would have been due Oct 17
If you O'd on the 3rd - AF would be due today
If you O'd on the 4th - AF would be due Oct 19

Of course this model assumes a 14 day LP and that you did O on the days listed. Do you chart or track anything? That could help determine things. Good luck.
