I'd never manage that one considering that I just spent 10 minutes trying to find the option to change the website to English LOL

A funny story - my Mother bought a shelving unit from Ikea a few months ago and after a few hours of trying to put it together, she gave up and put it out to the curb for garbage day. Awhile after, someone had taken it from the curb for themselves but.... at some point during the night, it arrived back to her curb no more put together than she had hiked it out the first time

I guess she wasn't the only one to get fed up with the shelving unit.

I LOVE Ikea but I've never bought furniture there! I hope you get it put together. Sometimes I notice a glass of wine helps me put big things together because I get REALLY flustered and upset when it's not moving along or the directions are confusing. I take a 20 minute break, drink a small glass of wine, and resume. I swear it helps, LOL.

Of course, I have an engineering degree and know how to read drawings. I also help my carpenter/contractor husband with projects Perhaps I have an unfair advantage?

I used to work at a furniture that sold scandinavian furniture like IKEA so I'm pretty good at putting those together too. It is frustrating though!

Just borrow a flame thrower from a neighbor. That'll solve the problem

I love Ikea but some of their stuff is ridiculously hard to put together. DH and I were married about 7 years when we bought an Ikea entertainment center. I had known him for 9 years at that point and had never seen him drink more than 2 beers and he rarely ever curses. This is how that night went.....

"What kind of crazy instructions are these?" *proceeds to get a few pieces together and has a few sips of beer* "What do the Swedish people have against Americans selling us this *****?" **drink more beer** "*** this stupid entertainment center"**finish first beer, open 2nd beer** "GDit I have to take half of it apart again." *guzzle entire 2nd beer crack open #3** "We aren't ever buying any of this Ikea crap ever ever again."

Somewhere around that point I went to bed. DH joined after beer #5. I didn't ask who won the fight...him or the entertainment center. When I got up in the morning it was put together and it has stayed that way for about 2 years now. I'd like to go to Ikea again but I'd hate for him to have to join AA.

Denver doesn't have an Ikea store that I know of. Problem solved for me. I didn't even know what Ikea was until JM. No joke. Although I totally wouldn't be surprised if the People's Republic of Boulder has one (okay okay some of you may not get this, but Jess should lol).

I'm liking the flame thrower idea!

Nekinna, did you ever get it figured out? Sometimes you have to just throw the directions out and figure it out yourself. DD has a table that had extra pieces and the wrong instructions.

Nope.. been to school all day and just got home and have refused to even try it again unless someone can take that darn kid (putting it together SUCKS... having a toddler climbing on your back sure don't help LOL)

I love and hate it, it is pretty cheap over here.. kind of like walmart with just furniture (etc) and as everything else.. a but pricier (yep.. 849NOK is cheap... ridiculous!)

I almost wish i did drink.. probably might even help....
