We were going to go to Orlando, but that is really starting to look like its not going to happen, so I am looking at my alternatives.

Have you ever gone to Disneyland CA? If so where did you stay and did you like it?

I've gone to Disneyland many times but only to California Adventure a few times. I know that staying at any of the nearby hotels is great as you don't have to worry about parking as they often have shuttles or if you're close enough you can just walk. Look at the website for participating good-neighbor hotels that might meet your needs.

I know! I am bummed, we haven't taken a real vacation in a lifetime, and it would have been so cool to go to Florida.

I called Disney today (on a lark) to see how much their 2 bedroom villa's were at the grand californian! It was (like) 1350 a night!! hahahaha I knew it was going to be expensive, but not that bad!
I think we're going to stay off site so we can get a suite with a few rooms. Not much of a vacation for mommy and daddy if there are always three other people in the room! lol *wink wink*

I hate to be a buzzkill, but having been to both parks, I'd skip Disneyland this year, and save the money until you can afford to go to Disneyworld. It's SOOOOO much smaller than Disneyworld, and the prices are almost the same, in terms of tickets, and food, and all that stuff. I just felt jipped paying almost the same price for "2" parks at Disneyland, when I got at least 4 at Disneyworld.

And that's another thing. There aren't really 2 separate parks at Disneyland, like at Disneyworld. It's almost like they took one park, put a big space in the middle, and ticket counters on either side, and called it two parks.

I don't know, if you're going to be there, it's still fun, but it's NOWHERE NEAR the same caliber as Disneyworld in my opinion. We only go to Disneyland if we're already going to be in SoCal for something else. This year, we couldn't go to Fla, so we're just saving the money we would have spent on Disneyland, for next year's trip to Disneyworld.

You make really good points, we're feeling like we are on a time crunch though as the kids are getting older. This is Joshuas Jr year, the year after that he will have graduated and we don't know what he will be doing, and we really want to take them all while they're still in the house.

Me personally I would put some of it it on credit and just go to DW, but Dh isn't into that. **** him for being responsible!! lol

We're going next week to Orlando. We were only able to afford it because we purchased a time share, for one year only, while we were on our honeymoon last year. Might be something worth looking into.
