lol I don't know how to explain it.

do you pronounce Dinner and Den with the same sound at the beginning? or in and end?

I'm gonna reply, then I'm gonna go see if I can find some links to the pronunciation.

Ok, go here and select:
Pronunciation by LadyPhantomhive (Female from United States)

pen pronunciation: How to pronounce pen in English, Dutch, Norwegian, Afrikaans, Welsh

and then go here and select the SAME PERSON
Pronunciation by LadyPhantomhive (Female from United States)
pin pronunciation: How to pronounce pin in English, French, Welsh, Romanian

It's the last person in both lists. She says them exactly how I would.

I got dbf to say pin and pen to me this morning. He says them the same, and made fun of me for saying it differently, until I pulled out a dictionary. hee hee. He's originally from Illinois. It's going to suck next week being made fun of for saying things "wrong" when really, I pronounce them like the dictionary says.

1) What do you call the place where you buy food and household items: Grocery Store

2) What do you call carbonated beverages: Soda

3) What's thing with wheels that you put food and household items in while shopping: Grocery Cart

4) What's the thing you carry on your shoulder with your keys, money, phone and cosmetics: Purse

5) Do you say y'all?: Heck no.

6) Do you pronounce these words the same? (Mary, merry, marry):Yes

7) Do these words sound the same? (pin, pen): Kind of yeah, but I get how they can sound different

8) Do you pronounce these words the same way? (aunt, ant): I swing both ways with this one

9) What do you call the public water drinking machine found in parks and schools?: Water fountain. I never, ever heard of a bubbler until this week.

10) What do you call the thing with wheels that people push babies around in? Stroller

11) What do you call a long sandwich on a roll? A sandwich. It doesn't matter how you slice the bread, it's still a sandwich.

12) Where are you from? Grew up in Maine and now in Cali. Maine and California are surprisingly similar as far as the preferred words, so I don't know how all those in-between States got so mixed up!

And it's Targ-eh (like the French would pronounce it) - just because I'm booshie like Liz.

The other one you missed is what do you call the thing your groceries go in when you take them home?

Bag, grocery bag (or "insert store name here bag")

Back home there is a difference between a Sobeys Bag and a Super Store Bag, and an even bigger difference between both and a Walmart bag. If you want something to re hold weight, you don't use a Walmart bag. LOL
