Glad you got your vbac! Poor thing, you can see how hard of a ride she had with the redness on her belly and face. She's adorable, and what a wonderful thing to do for other people. Congratulations!

what a great birth story - so glad you got your VBAC esp. since she turned out to be such a big girl too! She's really adorable...I applaud you for giving them such an amazing gift of surrogacy, it's a truly selfless act and you brought their miracle baby to life, literally.

congrats! I thought of you this weekend, I had a dream that I was a surrogate and I woke up from my dream crying (happily) after meeting the baby again when she was a little older

Thanks ladies.

It's been an experience. I have seen the baby every day since she's been born so far and she just gets bigger and cuter. lol I know it'll be a bittersweet day when everyone leaves for their prospective homes.

The end of the journey (the close) has been harder than I thought, because it's like it's just over, you know? Even though I know that we'll be in touch and probably doing it again next year, it just is weird that I was pregnant and now I am not and the journey is done. Just no words, I guess. I don't know how to explain it...

I feel great about everything, just sad it's come to a close.

Congratulations to you and the parents. What a big, beautiful girl! You've done such a self-less act. Those parents will forever be grateful to you I'm sure. And you're already talking about doing it again?!

Thank you!

Yes, they are from Spain. I was offered the chance to stay the final 3 months of pregnancy, but I had to decline because my kids were in school, I was still in school (before summer break) and my dh has a job and that would have made it to where the kids would need child care which we can't afford. lol

One day, I will hope to go to Europe and I'd visit both Spain and Italy as well as Germany. I'd also like to go to the UK.

Newmama-Yes, we're talking next May if we go forth with a sibling journey. They are older IP's and also I am not getting younger and want to be completely done with pregnancy well before 40. lol

No. I had one loss with one set of IP's--from France-- (baby T) and they couldn't move forward again at that time. I knew I didn't want any more kids so decided to wait a little bit for them, but they decided not to do anything else. (I don't know if that's changed yet or not) I matched with another family--from Spain-- and this is the family I just delivered for. The next journey will very likely be the current IP's but not til 2012.

The others were my children. One very early (like VERY early) so I didn't put that down but the other was later in the pregnancy so I gave her a name and ticker.

Wow, just wow. You are truely an amazing human being. To do that for other people is just amazing. I am very touched to read the birth story and I've been thinking about what you've done. I'm not sure if I could do that, but how fantastic!!!! I don't have the right words to say but i am just stunned that you would be that selfless. Big props to you, what an awesome woman you are!

My thoughts exactly. I can't think of a more selfless act. Absolutely beautiful.

I had considered doing something like this, but these feelings you describe are what I'm afraid of. It makes sense to me.
You are an awesome woman
