Our band had pages and pages of songs they suggested for a first dance and we didn't know most of them. My mom had to sing them for us and even then a bunch were a mystery to us. We only danced the first verse of the rose by ourselves then we had the rest of the wedding party join for the second verse and anyone else who wanted after that. The song is so long and no one wanted to watch us dance that long by ourselves.

We had our first dance to "You and Me" by Lifehouse... It's a song that DH and I loved right from the first time we heard it on the radio. It was perfect for us. It's weird, but right before he proposed to me (like days before) it was on every radio staion I tuned into. I would go from station to station and that's all I heard... Guess it was a sign!
I will have to look up the name of the first song we danced to. Chris's cousin wanted to sing for us, and she picked the song as a surprise. I had never heard it before. Chris is still bitter about a few years later when we were in Walmart and it starting playing on the in store radio. Not only did I not recognize it, I would not dance with him (in the middle of an isle in Walmart. How many of you would have?) He is so much more of a romantic than I am. I do feel bad about not recognizing the song.
The song we picked to dance to was "She's More" by Andy Gibbs. Because his cousin wanted to sing our first song it ended up being our second. I doubt that one would work for many other couples, but it was perfect for us.
