My RE called with the results form my many tests. I had normal androgen (male hormones) level, blood sugars, negative for cystic fibrosis gene, and everything else was normal too EXCEPT I have a slightly high TSH (thyroid level) and prolactin.

The RE thinks the high prolactin is b/c of the high TSH (thyroid). So I am slightly hypoglycemic and have to have more blood drawn to further investigate it. And I have a new medication. Yippee! I don't know if it still means I have PCOS since those labs came back normal, but I will talk to them again tomorrow. I am thinking I do b/c my TSH levels are only slightly elevated, not enough to usually interfere with ovulation but enough to be at increased miscarriage risk.

If this has taught me anything, it is that every woman who is having long term trouble TTC should have all the proper blood work done, and an ultrasound, even if you think all you have is MFI (male factor infertility). Look at me--you just never know!

Just curious, what was your TSH level? I think they recently revised what they consider "acceptable" TSH levels. It used to be 0.5 to 5.0 and now they are saying it should be 0.3 to 3.0 and that most doctors would prefer that you be in the 1.0-2.0 range for conception, although some just say "around 1.0".

Yeah I recently heard that too. I didn't ask since I was at work and had limited time, but I will ask them that tomorrow too. He wants me to start the thyroid meds when I get my blood work Thursday. Hopefully he is keeping current!
