I got in a little car accident today. I am so mad. I t was at the DR. office. When i was leaving and backing out i noticed a car had parked me in. She was right behind me.. Well i tried to get around her and hit her. Not hard at all but enough to put a tiny tiny scratch in her old car. Then i had to go in and find out whos car it was. I was so pissed off. I called my insurance and they said it's my fault. If anything it should be 50-50. She was parked illegally... How is that 100% my fault.

Anyway now i have to pay $500 to my insurance so they can fix her tiny little scratch. To make it worse i get a point on my driving record. I have never had an accident or ticket before. The worst part is that the car is still under my parents name and insurance company. They have been after me for over a year to put the car in my name and insure it myself So i had to call them in Mexico(they are on a trip) and let them know i let them down. I just feel so bad.

Well that just blows!! I cant believe that. wouldnt she just settle out of the insurance company? I know if it was just for a scratch thats what i would do.

I really hope that your ok no injuries. Some ppl can be just RUDE. at least you did the proper thing. and why was she that close to you in the beginning? Some ppl must get the licenses from the CRACKER JACK BOXES!!

Ugh- How Frustrating for you! That would make me angry too. I'm sorry that you have to deal with all of this because someone so careless blocked you into a spot- Some people need to get some common sense.

I am sorry. That really stinks that it is 100% your fault. What matters most is that nobody was hurt.

Hmm Interesting.

I had a minor accident 2 yrs ago in Feb... I turned to the left lane and a car was in my blind spot and i hit her passenger door. it was minor. We exchanged insurance info. I did not pay deductible because it was just a minor scratch. I didn't pay a dime. However, my insurance paid for their scratch but for MINE, I declined to pay $500 cuz I could cover the scratch on my own. (save money that way)
So why do you have to pay $500? That's silly. Im sorry you had to go through that!!!

I am going to talk to her and see if she will. She was pretty young maybe 17-18. So i am going to have to deal with her dad. Which is scary for me. It's really not bad at all but i could see her wanting all she can get out of it. If i were the one hit i wouldn't want to deal with the drama. I would just go home and buff the spot out. Thats what i am going to do with my car. My car got it worse and i am 100% sure i can fix it all myself.

Thats why I am so mad. She told me she couldn't find any other spots so she thought she would park behind me. She also said she thought she left me enough room to back out.

I agree. I mean i know it was dumb of me to even try to back out but i really did think i could make it. If anything it should be 50/50. She broke the law and i have to pay for it. It just doesn't seem fair.

I think it's silly too. I'm not sure why i have to pay. My dads insurance guy is his freind too and he still told me i would have to pay the $500 deductible Maybe i don't. I hope not.

That just stinks. If the scratch is not that bad she should just fix it herself or else just have you pay her out of pocket to get it fixed so it doesn't go on the insurance. If I were her, I'd just tell you not to worry about it, that is the decent thing to do because 1. she was parked illegally 2. her car is kinda old anyway 3. a small scratch is not that big of a deal.

I hope you can get it worked out so you don't have to pay the $500.

Thank you all for being so supportive about it. The girl turned it into her insurance company last night. They called me first thing this morning. So i am screwed. My insurance company told me my rate will go up 20% now I am so mad at myself. The girl won't even take my calls. I left her voice mails telling her that if she get's an estimate i would just pay for it out of pocket..but no she has to screw me

What a b****! I'm sorry you are going through this, maybe switch to Allstate with their accident forgiveness? I don't know if it is too late now though.
