My husband is getting me a new car but i have no idea what i want. I am thinking an suv but gas is so much i feel like it's a waste. I just don't know what i want and i need to come up with ideas by this weekend. It needs to be a family size car/truck/suv. Lots of room for a baby and baby stuff

I don't want to spend over $35,000 either.

Any thoughts? I am thinking a new Honda cr-v...Small suv good on gas?!?!

I'm looking for a new car too Jamielynn! We've been eyeing the Nissan Altima... It's got a huge trunk for lots of baby stuff and DH's cousin has one and says it's great on gas! Hope you can find the perfect car for you!

Awwwwwww! Congrats Jamie!! That's so exciting!! (i'm jealous hehe)

The honda cr-v looks cute. I know the toyota rav4 is good on gas too.
My recommendation is a hybrid though (this is what we plan to get when we have a baby, we'll need more room our Mazda3 is tiny, especially the trunk, not sure which we will get but here's our 3 choices)

Saturn VUE hybrid (great on gas) city 29 highway 32

toyota highlander hybrid city 32 highway 27

Mazda tribute hybrid city 34 highway 30

We have one of those right now. It's a rental because DH was in a car accident. I really do like it alot. It's really nice looking from the outside too. However the one we have must be one of the cheaper models. The inside isn't very nice. I want to go around at look at other models though with some upgrades maybe. My Dh loves how it drives too. He says it has POWER!! Thanks...I hope you find one too

Thanks Lindsey!! I really like the Saturn VUE. I have never seen that one before. I will have to add that to my list. The highlander is also on our list. It's so nice I have never heard of the Mazda tribute either so we will have to look into that.
Thanks for posting

I'm also looking at a new car but am waiting until we are pregnant to buy(if we end up pregnant with twins, we're going straight to a minivan). I don't have any recs since we have to order in the vehicle of our choice

I'm in the market for a "new" car right now too. It will have to be a few years old to fit in our budget though. I drive a small SUV right now (Mazda Tribute), but it is a complete gas hog! It gets horrible gas mileage. Seriously- about as bad as my husband's big pick up truck.

I need something 4 wheel drive for all of the snow, so I think I've decided on either a Volkswagen Passat (huuuuuge trunk) or an Audi A4. I want to go back to a car and figure I may as well do it now as we aren't even pregnant yet. It will be a long while before needing more than 4 seats in the car.

In sad news though, I was about to made a deal at a dealership on a 2004 Passat last weekend but then on Tuesday I got rear ended!!! So now I have to wait to have it fixed before I can trade it in. See what she did to my poor car?

Oh Wow Lauren! That's terrible! I'm glad that your ok though. I hope that you can get it fixed up quickly and get yourself into that new car! I'm also looking for something a bit older within our budget. I'll have to look at the Passat now! LOL... Gotta get a car that's good in the snow here too (I live on top of a mountain! LOL).

I hope you everyone who's looking finds just the right car for them at a great price!
