I have spent way too much time over the last few days weaving through my insurance info to make sure they will cover my prescription for clomid. They will, but I have to have my doctor fill out a form first. As long as they like how she fills it out they'll cover it. It took me multiple online messages and 45 minutes on the phone yesterday to get my prescription insurance to send the needed info to my doctor. Now I have been on the phone with the doctors office to make sure they got the form as they only have 10 days to send it back. What a hassle! Since I'm out of the country next week, I have to make sure they do this now. The best part is, I have to go through this every cycle I need clomid If she writes a renewable prescription I wouldn't have to, but she wants to write a prescription for one month so we can see if we need to up the dose. I feel like I'm annoying the office with each call I make, but my insurance does not make this easy. The receptionist told me they would have to go through the "hundreds of faxes" they receive each day to make sure they got it. Not my problem lady! Hopefully I'll be starting clomid right after my anniversary.

I finally took a look at DH's SA results last night. We were running out the door for our ulimate frisbee league. I don't remember any of the numbers, but his were well above what's considered normal in all the categories. What a relief! Hopefully we can treat my hormonal imbalance with a round or two of clomid and I'll finally get a BFP with a sticky bean.

that's awesome. I'd be asking my doc to write it as a renewable script even if she just wants to up the dose after one cycle, simply makes it less confusing. I'm so glad that my insurance has no complicated forms like that, lol. Good luck

I'm sorry you're having such a hassle with insurance and dr office. I hope they get it all done right for you. That's great about dh's results. I hope this boost will be all you need for your healthy sticky bean, Celry! G/L

I just started Clomid this cycle. I don't know if the pharmacy applied insurance or not. They gave me the generic version of it & it cost $9 for 5 pills. My max co pay with my insurance is $15. So it looks like the generics are pretty cheap.

Wow! What a hassel! I hope that you can get all the paperwork and faxes figured out asap so you don't have that on your plate while you're gone. I'm glad that you'll be able to start the Clomid soon and also that the SA results were great!

I don't think my insurance coved it, and it was $24 for 5 pills, so it really isn't that much.

My docs office called after 6:00 last night to tell me they'd received the form and sent it back in. I got my prescription yesterday and as soon as I get back I can get it filled. Hopefully my insurance approves everything by then. To avoid needing to fill out the paper work each month, my doc wrote a prescription for 20 pills. I only have 1 co pay that way If the insurance decides to not cover it for some reason, then I can have the prescription re-written before I have it filled and only get a months worth.

$24 for 5 pills is nothing.

My insurance company just called with an automated message to let me know they approved coverage

I think the computer that called knew more of what's going on than any of their employees I talked to earlier this week
