Sandy asked what everyone is doing differently this month in another question, but I was wondering, along the same lines, what your reasons are for doing something different or not. We're not really doing anything different because we've tried everything and my doc is a jerk. We also don't want to overload my body with hormones (had an adverse effect before).
So, if you're trying something new, what made you decide? (Medications, methods, monitors, etc.) If you're not doing anything different, do you think that you will? Why or why not?
Just curious...I wonder if the process gets easier or more frustrating when you think that you're doing everything possible to get pregnant...

In some ways I would say yes it does. After DH and I got married we weren't really trying, but we weren't preventing either - so when AF came each month it was Oh well. Then, when we first started to try, all I did was chart at first - again each time AF came, it was disappointing, but still I figured I just got the timing wrong - so then I decided to step it up and use OPK's - again AF showed, so I started to blame the lub we used, switched to Pre-Seed, used a Clear Plan Monitor and OPK's still nothing. By then it was so frustrating (and as you know the length of my cycles doesn't help either). This cycle I needed a break and just charted (of couse I you know were that's got me know LOL).

I think that it may have gotten more frustrating for us, too, using everything that we can. Especially for DH. I think that he sort of liked being blissfully unaware of what was going on and what his role was in the whole thing. Now, he's almost as into it as I am, knowing what my temps are, when I O, etc. It's not exactly a fun family activity. Plus, I have to worry about his actions all the time, too. Blah.
Kim, I am so glad that you're going to the doc to get some answers. It's going to be GREAT when you are able to start TRYING trying and not just waiting for AF, huh?
I'd still like others' opinions if you have any...I like asking--makes me feel not so alone and not so crazy.

I dont know that i will do anything differently. Maybe i give up to easily? I temped one month and didnt get pregnant and FF wouldnt even give me a coverline. I used OPK's one month and i can't seem to read them correctly since they always looked positive to me. So i went to doing nothing (which is what DH wants me to do anyway). i found this less stressful and so i might just stick with that. I am ready to talk to my doctor, since we're going into our 7th month, but he made it clear last time i was there for my yearly that he wouldnt talk to me about it until it's been one year. So......i'm about ready to look for a new doctor!

Hi, I am new to this, but basically I am willing to give anything new a try. My partner and I have been trying to conceive for a year and three months. We got pregnant after five months and I carried the baby for 11 weeks and miscarried. In August my body shut down, I haven't had af since the end of July. I have been on Metformin (500 mg X3) for the last two months...still no af. I have also been on progesterone to see if I have enough estrogen to start af...no luck. I am very frustrated and the medical system here isn't helping, I have been waiting four months to get an appointment scheduled with a gyno!
Any advice?

First, welcome to JM, Christall!!! I hope that you're able to get good info from the wonderful ladies here, as well as be entertained!
I'm so sorry for your loss. Many, many of us on this board have experienced a loss. If you don't mind, I might also suggest Pregnancy Loss forum and TTC After Miscarriage. As for what's happening to your body, I know that it can take a very long time for your body to heal after a miscarriage. But usually a doc is willing to help you out a bit! Where do you live? Why can't a doctor see you? After a m/c at 11 weeks, I would think that they'd want to monitor you a bit, or at least make sure that you're back to "normal" afterwards!!!
I would suggest going elsewhere, perhaps...if you still haven't gotten AF, then you may need something else to jumpstart it!!!
How frustrating for you! In the meantime, I hope that you will visit us here. There are some wonderful, smart, beautiful women here always ready to provide information, encouragement, and support whenever you need it!

OK so lat month I really stepped it up and tried opks, B6, cough syrup and preseed. No baby. This month the thing I did different was go on vacation. That definitely made the sex a little more fun. I still temped while on vaycay but nothing else. We'll see if that made any difference. In December I will be allowed to see a gyno b/c we will have been trying 12 cycles. I call that a year even though a couple were short cycles. We technically started trying at the end of January. If we still aren't preggo this month I will be making that dr.s appt. and trying whatever they suggest...drugs, liquor, loose women. Well, maybe not the loose women, but I am always open to trying new things in this quest for conception.

This past month I started charting and temping. Thats new. Also, I have ordered a different thermometer because I'm afraid the one I'm using is slightly inaccurate.
Oh, we're also starting to use Pre~Seed.
I guess you caught me during a cycle when we're starting to get serious about "trying". Up till now, it's been hap-hazard (if it happens, it happens!)

This month I got my game face on! My dh laughs at me! After a 76 day cycle I realized that I did not want to let nature take it's course anymore! I started temping and I got some Preseed. I am now on cd6 and told dh that on cd8, let the games begin! I also have 14 opk's and will be ready!

Good job, ladies! We're all really taking control of our bodies here...I'm glad that you all are doing what's best for you--whether it be hypervigilance or nothing at all.
I actually found vacation to see my brother very stressful in the TTC scheme of things. I couldn't temp the whole time, didn't sleep hardly at all, and even though my cervix was changing, couldn't BD just to make sure because my sister, DH, and I all slept in the same room!!! Ugh. Don't worry, I didn't let it ruin the trip. It was just in the back of my mind. I felt ridiculous, but remember, I am in the 2WW and was surrounded by teeny kid and baby ridicicuteness.
I want one.
