When I went they tested my thyroid and progesterone levels on CD 21, then I had my FSH and LH tested on CD 3. All of my levels were normal. DH goes for his SA on Friday and then I will hopefully get an HSG if his SA comes back normal. That's what happened with me. I imagine they will do those tests first before they prescribe any medication. Good luck at the RE! I hope you get some answers and a BFP real soon!

Be prepared for anything! Most people on here told me during the first appt. they wouldjust talk to us and order some tests, but during my first appt I got a pap (even though I was up to date on them) and an internal ultrasound. Then we talked for a long time, talked about getting an HSG and ordered the bloodwork.
Congrats on your first appt.! I am very excited for you Jamie!

Pretty much the same thing here......did all the bloodwork, had DH do the SA, then a transvaginal ultrasound and an HSG. Now we are waiting for the results of this month's BDing and if AF arrives, we'll start clomid.
Good luck!!!
Oh' and I brought my charts, my bloodwork results cause my last doctor ordered that stuff, and my DH.
I also showed him the results from my CBEFM. My doctor doesn't really like the charting though....he said there's too many variables when it comes to taking your temp in the morning, but I still chart my temp for my own sanity. I like to know I o'd for sure!
ETA: He was also going to start my clomid this past month and do an internal to check my ovaries, but we chose to do the HSG first.

Hey hun!! Congrats on getting the appt.
When we first went the very first appt. we simply just sat down and talked, but that is because of where I was in my cycle.
Then the 2nd was scheduled for CD3 and they ran the tests and did an U/S and actually prescribed me Clomid that day. As you may know, I didnt respond to the 50mg so after CD3-7 of Clomid I went back on CD12 for another U/S (thats when I found out I didnt respond) at that appt I was actually started that day on an extra 100mg of Clomid, so CD12 through CD16 I am taking more Clomid. I go back in on Thursday to see how I responded.
Basically, be ready for anything. Talk to your DH ahead of time and decide what you guys are willing to try and what you arent. Also talk about how long of a process you want your journey to be. Do you want to start out with slight medication and increase slowly or do you want to go right in for the IVF or IUI.
I know most doctors will straight forward tell you they are going to do Clomid first and so on and so forth. However if it doesnt satisfy you, let them know. My doctor actually gave the option of doing IUI right away or just trying Clomid and the Ovidrel. We chose the Clomid and Ovidrel because of the lower cost, and lower risk of multiples (especially for our first pregnancy).
Another thing to bring with you is your complete family medical history (if available) they ask alot of question about that and your cycle history.
Finally I would just suggest asking them what there complete plan is for you. Some will just tell you about the Clomid for this cycle and not give you any idea what would happen if the Clomid didnt work. It may be just me, but I like to see the bug picture and know all of our options.
I hope the appt. is a complete success and I hope this helps!! Good Luck!! KUP!!

Good luck Jamie and I hope it goes well! I can't wait to hear your updates!! Have you had any testing done up til now?? I would maybe ask the doctor what he thinks of Clomid vs. Femara. The clomid had a ton of side effects but I didn't notice any with the Femara. I also responded to the Femara but didn't respond to the 50mg and 100mg of Clomid. It might be good just to hear his opinion on the two.
Keep us posted!

I had blood work and an internal ultrasound done last june when we first started ttc. Everything looked fine then...So i'm not sure if he will have me do another one and blood work. I will ask about Femara for sure!! Plus Lindsey had such good luck with it too
Thanks for the advice
Good luck with the Femara this cycle!!1
