Hey everyone! I just posted this in Trying to concieve first child forum, and got suggested this forum too. As soon as AF comes I am going to try Clomid for the first time and would love feedback/advice/stories from other ladies going through the same thing.

So I decided to write an informational post about me and my family, so everyone can put a face to my name.

My name is actually Heather, not Skeeter. lol. Skeeter is what my DH calls me from time to time. I am 26 years old. I have two step kids, Autumn 8, and Takoda 9. They both have different moms, and although I love them soooo much, being a step mom has had it's rough patches. I get along well with Autumns mom, who is actually my DH's ex-wife. Crazy, I know. However, I don't get along with Takoda's mom, unfortionately she is a pill popper, and absolutely crazy. (I say that in a worried/frustrated way, not a mean way). My poor little Takoda is a result from a one night stand, is ADHD, and has had a very hard life. My husband and I love both of them so much, it is hard sometimes to not be in direct control of their lives. So many times I have had to bite my tongue! I am surprised I have a tongue left!

Anyhoo, all that leads up to way we have decided that we desperately need a child of our own. So when we have to say goodbye to my DH's kids, we don't go through empty nest syndrome. Over, and over, and over again. We need a little family of our own to keep us going. (Plus I am dying to hear a little one call me Mommy!!)

We don't exactly know what is wrong with me yet. We have been TTC for eight months. My periods are crazy far apart. I just started progesterone to jump start my period (which isn't working by the way), and then I am going to try Clomid. Wish us luck! I just linked my ticker, so check out my chart if you like, but don't laugh it's crazy. Plus I have gotten a little burned out of it since nothing is really happening....I don't think.

Here are some pics of my family for you.

Welcome, boy can I relate to you, it isn't easy being a stepmom, LOL. I had a very hard time, my husbands exwife was insane. She was so angry when she found out he was dating again that she kept the kids from him for two months. The school called us and said that the teacher overheard her telling Emma that her daddy wasn't picking her up because he doesn't love her anymore. They said Emma was so distraught they asked him to come and speak to her. So he did, he wrote her a nice letter she could keep with her in school, and made her feel better. I couldn't believe any mother would hurt her child like that. We had quite an eventful year after that. i am not sure why she was so angry, they had been divorced 3 years.

Shortly after our wedding though she passed away. After a party in the middle of the night. The girls didn't see anything. So things are a little easier now, but at first they girls were angry at me that I was alive and she was dead. The grief counselor said that was normal.

Anyhow, I wish you good luck on your TTC journey! I am starting clomid this next cycle as well. AF should be due tomorrow, and I am kind of excited, but nervous.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with me! Us "Smoms" have to stick together! My heart reaches out to your little step-children. It sounds like their mother was horrible! How lucky they are to have you. I always hold out hope that one day my step-son will be able to come live with us. It is really normal for the kids to be upset under those circumstances, one day they will thank you. I know that I have had my moments with my step-son were he has been angry with me, but I know inside he was thankful. I hope I am eventually able to have a little one of my own, so I can unleash all these maternal instincts!!! lol. GL with the Clomid, I am hoping it works for me as well! If only AF would show!!! AGH!
