When do you take your meds? I have 500mg tabs to take 3x/day - I do fine in the morning and evening but I am always forgetting midday/afternoon. It annoys the heck out of me to have to take a med midday.
Is it okay to take 1 in the morning and 2 in the evening?
Thanks girls! I can do the morning and evening before bed meds but anything throughout the day is just impossible for me to keep up with. I will start doing the 1 morn with 2 at bedtime. I wasn't sure if taking 2 would upset my body. I've been doing pretty good on the meds so far. The only probs I noticed were in the beginning when I go rally bad diarrhea or if I eat something too greasy or sugary I'll get an upset tummy.
Have either of you lost weight since being on the metformin? It seriously kills my appetite. Which I'm not complaining about but I have to remember to eat to keep my metabolism up.
Maybe I will do the two pills at night and one in the morning.
I have lost weight since taking the Met, but I have also been taking thyroid medication too. I have lost a bunch of weight for my size, all together 13lbs in about 3 weeks. My appetite has increased though, but again I think it might be the thyroid meds.
I'm slowly losing weight, my appetite is nada most days too. I have to eat a little something almost every hour to keep things going well. I've been gradually adapting to the PCOS diet(a modified diabetic diet) and losing weight. I wish it would come off faster but I know 16 lbs in 2 months is a lot still.
Where did you find the adapted PCOS diet Jenn? I would love to check it out. And now as I post this I need to go downstairs and take my meds. ugh...my memory seems so bad lately! I always take mine with an Activia Probiotic (yogurt) drink, either strawberry or vanilla so as to make sure I don't take it on an empty stomach.
I just got a book on a diabetic diet and have adapted it from that. there is a book one of the ladies on the PCOS board suggested too, I am ordering it this week also. I'm not strict about it, but trying to mostly eat low GI foods, etc. You can always ask to get a referral to the nutritionist and ask them for help to find a good diet for PCOS/diabetes.
I stopped my met after surgery and I was on 1500mg too. I never lost weight or noticed anything like that when I was on it. However, I also had thyroid problems. My dr says now that I don't need it. Don't know what my body has been doing, but everything that showed a year ago is not showing now. Very frustrating. I took one in the morning and two at night. I don't see that it would hurt. Good luck!!
