That's a big list with a very wide variety of places. I can't help though. I've been to some of the places, but don't really know enough about them to give you constructive feedback.

Sacramento CA --- It's nice there (lived there when I was little but Grandma lived there until I was 15 and we always visited), gets really hot though in the summer!

San Francisco CA----It's really nice too, lots and lots of people jamed into a small area though, nice weather usually (didn't live there but my sister did for 4 years and visited all the time)
elaware)

Tuscon AZ----Nice if you like heat! My best friend and Grandma live there

Sacramento CA It's really nice and they have awesome shopping!! The traffic is SOOOOO SOOOO bad though. I mean you sit forever. It's nice and warm. The people overall are nice, down to earth, family types. I lived in sac for a little over a year.
San Francisco CAI love it there just because it's San Francisco. It's beautiful and full of history and fun stuff to do. But the weather sucks and it's depressing. The people are rude and it's so expensive. Also the traffic is bad and you pretty much walk where ever you need to go. I live just outside of San fran for 7 years

I've lived in FL prior to here for 21 years, I never lived in Pcola though. We only had one hurricane hit 30 minutes N. of where we lived. (Out of the the hurricanes that threaten FL and it was category 4) And we barely got much damage, had power off for a week was the hard part but it was fun being off school/work because no power. Also usually if a hurricane is coming you always track it plenty of time in advance, so if you think it's going to hit your area you can evacuate and leave very quickly/easily. We never left. Even when one was projected to hit us, it didn't. It hit completely somewhere else.

No need to worry about gators. We had pets that would escape and a ditch in our far backyard and lakes on the golf course across the street, no incidents with any one's pets and the gators. If you see a gator in your yard, area, lake, etc you can call people and they will come and move it to a bigger lake, etc. I know many families who did this when they saw gator eyes in the lake as they had lil kids.

The weather is pretty nice in FL. North FL is nicer than southern. It usually rains a lot during the spring. It can get humid at times. Pensacola is near the beach so that's awesome! I love the gulf beaches! I prefer it to the pacific/Atlantic actually, it's calmer and more peaceful IMO.

The cost of living in FL isn't that bad, MUCH better than CA's prices. The houses are nice and reasonably cost, gas is cheaper that CA.

There's things to do: the beach, zoo, dog track, shopping, water park, arcade, a lot of museums, skydiving, sports, etc.

Some history on Pcola http://www.10best.com/Pensacola/locationDetails.html seems it's a big Naval Air place.

Now for CA, I never lived in the mentioned/listed cities but I'm about 4 hours or so south of them. I like CA's scenery- the mountains are nice and weather is cool, but I dislike the fact things here are soooo expensive!! Take a 3bd/2br house here is basically 2-3 times more than almost anywhere else in the US. I particularly do not like where we're at as we are in a small city, there's nothing. I would probably prefer one of the cities you listed, but I can bet things there are probably a lil pricer? I'm not certain, but just a guess. Oh yea, I do know that San Fran is even MORE expensive than here. a 2/2 apartment in the city is like over 2G a month. Traffic can be bad at times on the freeways.

And for the UK. Not sure if you've ever been to the UK, but it's different that the US, a good different, there are some things that take a lot of getting used to. I'm sure Emma or Claire will share more since I only lived there 3 weeks. The weather has it's up and downs. Mostly it rains a lot and it's usually pretty cool, so sometimes it can be a bit depressing if you don't see the sun for a few days or so. The driving on the other side of the car/road is something that took me a bit to get used to, almost got run over. Their washers and dryers are all in one, it does both which is pretty cool/smart. (at least this is how it was like where we lived) Traveling within Europe is cheap! You don't really need a car to live there, everyone usually takes the train, subway, bus or walks. The food there is good! The accents are awesome! The buildings are so neat and unAmerican

Hope this helped some April~ Good luck!

Thanks girls. I really appreciate the good info. It would be cool if we eventually wound up overseas but you just never know. Wouldn't it be funny if Linds & I both wound up in the UK and could meet with the UK girls. That would be neat. I have a friend from Texas who also lives over in England, she married a Brit. I guess you never know where life will take you.

Hey Linds, have you guys heard anything about the UK Job? Oh... and thank you for putting my concerns about living in Florida at ease (especially the gators part). I think that's alot better to deal with Hurricane's where you have notice and time to leave vs. Tornadoes which don't give much warning at all. What part of Florida did you live in Linds?

I haven't lived in teh UK but I have friends who do. They did 4 years there, left and now are back for 6 more, lol. they love it there.

Az-DH was stationed there it was hot but liked it, but he lvoes hiking and deserty crap.
NC-DH's kids are in the raleigh area, it's beautiful there and we like the area-other than the fact his ex is there, lol.
Great Falls-beautiful area, but very snowy, etc.
Cheyenne-near the border of UT and WY, nice area, fairly rural but near a lot of big city life. Again, very snowy.
Vegas-hot but fun. It's not all life on the strip, lol. You are hear a lot of hiking, there is a lot to do there if you are outdoorsy.

I live in OKC right now. The housing market is said to be the best in the nation right now (including apt prices). It has also been named the most recession proof city in the nation and the best in the nation for commuters. There are only two places in the whole city that I ever run into traffic. The cost of living is not bad. I could recommend a good doctor. There is an RE here that everone raves about. I do not know anyone that has had to do more than one intervention with him. (Google Eli Reshef--He has his own wed page)

You guys would be at Tinker airforce base right?? I know some people who work there. There is a really nice neighborhood close to base that my friend rented a house in. Everybody in that neighborhood was from the base and renting there.

What else can I tell ya?? You might have to PM me questions. I sometimes forget where I have posted.

That would be funny April

Well we just heard a "we haven't forgotten you, we'll get back with you soon to let you know after we have our meeting, it's busy here" message. So we're still waiting. which is a lil frustrating, considering we're leaving in a week and we'd prefer/want to know before we leave to make it easy to plan, etc. You're welcome. Yes that is def. the plus side of hurricanes to tornadoes I lived on the South Gulf Coast, south of Tampa.
