I was looking at some different videos that can be used during pregnancy and it got me to thinking. I'll be honest - I hardly workout due to time, etc and I need to. After my thyroid was removed I gained even more weight while we worked on my meds for six months. Anyhow, I'm looking at ordering some videos to get started with lighter workouts that will be safe to continue during pregnancy and work on adding more walking and even start biking again, especially now that the summer is here and it's perfect timing to do this.
How many of y'all work out routinely now and are going to keep it up and what do you do?
How many of you are like me and don't really work out, maybe need to, maybe don't, but want to do so during pregnancy?
What do y'all plan on doing?

I don't work out because I have a lot of bad joints, but I should. I'll probably start trying to walk more at the very least and keep that up during pregnancy. I just don't want to start anything I know I won't stick to.

DH and I joined the YMCA last summer. We try to go 4-5 times a week. Typically I do 3 days of cardio (normally running on the treadmill for 30-45 minutes, or occasionally the elliptical) and two days on the weight machines. They have a circuit set up so if you go through all the machines you get a full body workout. Since we started going I have lost 10lbs and toned up a lot. My cardio (and resting heart rate) is so much better now. I am also very lazy at heart. If it weren't for DH pushing me I would have never started going, but I am very happy he talked me into it, and proud of what I have accomplished.
I haven't gone back since the BFP last Wednesday night (I did my cardio that day just before I took the HTP though.) I have been looking into it a lot and I am going to change from alternating walking and running, to walking on an incline (to keep my heart rate more steady.) and continue to do most off the weight machines, but reduce the weight I was lifting on the ones I really struggle with. From what I read whatever workout routine you start before pregnancy can be continued afterwards, you just have to tone it down a little as your pregnancy progresses. And be careful about stretching and balance exercises as you progress. Several other people have recommended DVD's on pregnancy yoga and pilates, but I have not looked into or tried those yet.

I want to work out now...I hop on the treadmill every so often. I need to get into a routine, but DD is a horrilble sleeper & I end up sleeping in her room so I can't always get up early enough. I got a yoga DVD but I'm not that great at it, so I'll probably just try to stick to getting on the treadmill whenever possible.

I ordered two DVD's and plan to order another one once we actually get pregnant. I figure I can start these before hand and get into a workout routine that isn't lengthy, so I'll stay motivated, and then continue them through pregnancy - when we finally get there.

I try ot do yoga 5 days a week. It helps me stay limber and is very relaxing while working out. I also do some kind of cardio 3-5 days a week too.

I work out 5+ days a week. I do kickboxing 2 days a week and circuit training 2-3 days a week. I am always at the gym!!! I also run however it is to hot here to run already. I also walk my doys everyday.
When i am pregnant i will keep up with everything i am doing now. I may not work as hard while i am in gym class but i will still go.

I work out 5-6 days most weeks. I swim 3-4 days, lift one and usually run 2-3 times. I am also playing ultimate frisbee right now. I will continue to work out when I'm pregnant, but it won't be as intense. I'll pay attention to my body, like I do now, and speed up or slow down depending on what my body is telling me to do.
