Thumbs down~ I plan and hope to breastfeed all the way. There are so many pros of breastfeeding it just makes sense! From helping to shrink your uterus, it's free and easy, great bonding time with baby, it's better for baby, great way to help you loose the baby weight, etc. I'm really looking forward to it actually! I will pump and use natural bottles so DH can feed our baby and any babysitters so we can go out! I really hope I don't have to formula feed.

Thumbs up if necessary. The hospital gave DD and DS bottles against my wishes and after that they wouldn't breastfeed, but I would love to breastfeed the next now that we're in an area with better medical facilities. I had to feed DD and DS Isomil because they they were lactose intolerant. They grew out of it though.

Thumbs up!! I had problems BF as well with DS...he took to it fine - but I could not keep up with his demands - plus I wasn't very comfortable with it...he has turned out perfectly fine and it gave DH alot of chances to bond with baby too. I did breastfeed exclusively for like 4 or 5 weeks but after that we went to the bottle exclusively. I had to use Enfamil Gentilease due to DS having gassy problems.

I hope to breastfeed, but I know sometimes it just does not happen. Also, as a nurse who will be working 12 hour shifts with an hour commute each way---there will likely not be time to always pump at work, so once I go back, I will have to use formula I am sure.

I too would like to BF, but I know it doesn't always happen. Therefore, we'll be using formula if needed.

Thumbs up AND down??

I BF'd Bailey until she was 4 months old - I had sinus surgery and dries up your sinuses, dries up everything else too! So...from 5.5 months onward she was a formula kid.

This time around I hope to BF again for as long as possible. I'm just nervous that I'll have a hard time keeping up with the pumping when I go back to work.

This reminded me of this lady I was a nanny for a while back. Her son was 4 months old when she went back to work as a nurse with 12 hour shifts, and she tried to keep up with the pumping, but she couldn't do it enough.
Thumbs in the middle!
I hope to breastfeed for the first 5 or so months, then I am going to use formula. I would pump though also.

Thumb sideways for me too. I'm really hoping to b/f, but I know sometimes it just isn't possible for one reason or another. But I'm going to do everything to try b/c I really want that experience both for me & baby. However, my Mom wasn't able to. She was really nervous & her milk dried up quickly. So she had to formula feed me. Jury's still out on whether or not I turned out alright hahahaha
