So I thought i had an LP defect, but today is 16 DPO. I normally had 29-32 day cycles and LP of 8-11 days. Last cycle, I got my pos OPK at CD 19, but did not start until after I took provera around CD 80. I tested on 14 DPO and got a BFN. Stinks!

Now to my diagnosis, most people who have PCOS or even just really long cycles have to wait forever to ovulate. What is goig on with me that I have to wait forever to start. I don't think that is normal. Even when I get BFN, I still hope against all odds, so my TWW turns into when should I give up and ask for provera wait.

What do you guys think??

That isn't normal.

Have you been sick or under alot of stress? I know my December cycle was really long, but I was really sick during my normal O time.

I would definately talk to your doctor about this. You shouldn't have to take a pill to bring on AF each cycle.

I would talk to your Dr. My doctor gives me 18 days after ovulation to get a BFP...if nothing I go in for a blood test, and if still nothing on to something to bring on my cycle. So I would just contact your Dr.

Thanks girls. I had to go visit a friend in the hospital. I have not talked to my doctor because last cycle was the first time this happened. When I went a couple days after I Od, I told her how late I Od and we both assumed that I would have a normal length cycle (which would mean LP defect---thus the referral to the RE). I am going to test again tomorrow with a FRER. If it is a BFN, I will wait a few days and if AF does not show--I will go see my Dr.

Welllll, before I started being treated for my PCOS, I often got positive OPKs. But they were false positives because my LH was so high when it normally shouldn't be (a signifier of PCOS--I had a high LH to FSH ratio). So that was why I kept getting positive OPKs even though I wasn't ovulating. They were just useless at detecting ovulation.

Many women with PCOS just don't ovulate and so AF never shows up. So the key would be to treat the PCOS with drugs like Met and a different diet and exercise regime, and then wait and see. Even though your symptoms aren't normal for "normal" women, they sound very characteristic to me of PCOS women. I hope you can see a doc that will treat your PCOS Do you chart your temps?

I don't temp because I have a very weird schedule due to working 12 hour nursing days. Also I sleep with a CPAP at night. I will be better at the diet and exercise when we get moved n and I start working a regular job. I am going to ask the RE when I see him.
