My appointment with my new RE went so well today My mom had to go with me because my Dh was stuck in a meeting all morning.
Anyway my new RE is such a kind and sweet man. He did everything my other RE didn't do. He did an exam and checked me for endometriosis. He said it doesn't look like i have it. He also scheduled me for Ovarian Scanning this Monday. (i have Jury duty that day so i am praying i get out in time for it) Has anyone had an Ovarian Scanning? What's it like? Then 5 days after that he wants to do all my blood work He also wants me to get the HSG. But i called a bunch more places today and no one can get me in until next cycle.
We also got DH's SA back today. Perfect timing. I called my old RE first thing today and he faxed over everything to my new RE!! Dh's sperm count is perfect but the mobility is only about 40% So the new RE wants my DH to do another SA this cycle. Is 40% really bad?
So after i get the HSG test next month we are meeting up with the new RE again to set up a plan I am really happy with him. I think this is how an RE appointment should go
Any thoughts?

Just pooping in for a minute. Sounds like a great proactive new RE! I would reschedule your jury duty to be on the safe side. I did that today. Just call them and tell them you have a doctors appt you cannot miss and they should reschedule no problemo. Good luck!

I rescheduled last month but you know what i just may do so again. It wouldn't hurt to call and try to move it to a different day. The last thing i want to do is have to wait another month for these test. Thanks

I'm so glad that your appointment went well! It's awesome that you like your RE so much and feel like it's a great place for you to be. It seems like your RE has a nice proactive plan starting out and I hope that it means a nice BFP asap for you! You really deserve it!

I am glad your visit went so much better. As far as the motility on the SA, all the places I looked said different things. I think several of them said motility of 50% or better was normal. When my DH had his motility was only 13% (my doctor said 20% was normal, different labs have different references, so maybe it depends on what they count or how they count them.) But that all being said, low motility does not necessarily mean infertile.

That is fabulous news!!! It sounds like he is definatley going to pinpoint what the issue is. You must have a HUGE sense of relief, knowing you're heading in the right direction!!
I'm so excited for you!

Wow, I am so glad the appointment went well. I am not sure what his motility should be. DH goes in tomorrow for his SA!! I am so excited, but nervous too....Anyways, it sounds like he did everything he should. Getting all the tests and stuff done is the hard part, I think. Because after that you can build a plan. Good Luck!!

Thanks so much for the info. My RE said it was low but i wasn't sure if that was a bad thing or not. So what do they do for a guy who has really low motility?

When we did my IUI last month, DH's count was 92 million, and a little over 40% motility. The doctor said it was fine. I agree that each lab does tests differently and it just depends on what your doctor is looking for. I know of success stories with low count and motility. Good luck to you.

Good luck to you and your DH too! I hope all goes well with his SA. Let us know how it goes.
I agree. The tests are the hard part. I am freaking out about the HSG test still

The IUI was easy buiness. The wait was what really sucked, and the 2ww really sucked!! I'm pretty sure that we will do another IUI this month since we did it last month. I can't imagine us not doing it again after already going to that step, but who knows? I go in Friday for my follicle scan after my Clomid. We'll see. This is the do or die month when it comes to treatments. Either it works and we are elated and get a baby, or it doesn't and we stop for a while due to the cost. I also wanted to tell you not to stress about your HSG. It was like menstrual cramps and once it was over, so were they! I know, easier said than done!! I hope you get your BFP really soon.

Sounds great! What did he do to check for endometriosis? I'm a little worried about that and I know the only way they can know for SURE is to do a laproscopy, but I guess they can do something to see if they think you have it?
I think the ovarian scan is probably to look at your follicles and make sure you are ovulating but I'm not sure.
When my Dh had his SA done, I think they wanted 50% motility. So 40% doesn't sound too bad. Especially if his sperm count is good, I would think that should "make up" for that the fact that not quite as many are motile.
We have a different problem, my Dh's count and motility were both GREAT but his strict morphology was a little low. It was 11% and they like to see 14% or better. I'm still waiting on an RE visit to see if they think it is a problem or not.
I would say make sure your Dh is taking a multivitamin. Also some other supplements for motility are L arginine and L carnitine.
 For a great appointment!

sounds like a great visit! The ovary scan is probably just to check and make sure you don't have any cysts and make sure everything is okay!
