Yesterday,my DF and i went up to his friends house for an interview with a social worker.
This is to be added as named respite carers for his friends grand daughter. Shes just turned 3 and shes a lovely little girl.
The story though,is quite sad,and leads on to me being angry!!

The wee girls mum had her when she was just 14,granted,a mistake, but she had the courage to go through with the pregnancy and give birth to a gorgeous little girl.
As soon as the baby was born though, she was out and about doing usual teenage things, understandable given her age.
Anyway, eventually, she had completely given up on her daughter and left her with her grandparents, popping in occasionally etc etc,u know the story.
Now the grandparents have full custodial rights over the wee girl, and this is why we have been involved with the social worker,
just so we can give respite care legally, without any blow ups.
That all went fine and we are having police checks done etc,it will all be fine and in place sometime soon.

As we were leaving the house the kids grandmother pulled us aside from the grandad and told us that the wee girls mum,who turns 18 in a few weeks,is pregnant again!!!!!!

***?????????
Why does this happen????? Why are people so f****** irresponsible and yet everything just falls into place for them and they can do as they see fit????
Shes not going to want this baby either,i presume.

Anyway it just made me so mad i had to vent,i cant beleive it!!!

How generous of you to offer to help care for the little girl. She's lucky to have people like you and her grandparents in her life. It makes me so sad to hear stories like this, but it also gives me hope to think that there are wonderful people in the world like you and your DH who will help where you can.

Thank you for being there to help care for this little girl. I'm thankful that people like you and her grandparents have stepped up because her mom obviously won't. I completely understand the feeling of how some people who don't need to be parents just magically get pregnant and there are people like us ladies who would give anything to be a mom and we can't. Just freaking sucks!!

I agree with the other ladies. It's so wonderful of you to do what you're doing.

That little girl is lucky to have you two to give her a sense of normalcy, my niece also lives with her grandparents (but due to much sadder circumstances) and she loves to come and stay here as we do things that granny cant. The only thing you can do is be there for the little girl, and probably the new baby too.

My thoughts EXACTLY!!!

I know that everything happens for a reason - but sometimes life just makes you want to scream!!!

I'm so glad that the little girl has lots of support. I hope the teenager changes her ways...she'll live to regret it otherwise.

It so frustrating to see things like this. To see people doing things that are so irresponsible and so dumb.

And as much as it does suck for me to deal with what I am dealing with...I'm so glad that I am who I am and that I'm not one of *those* people who doesn't give a crap about their kids.

But yeah I still get ticked off at how unfair life can be when people who do not "deserve" kids get them.
