Thats awesome It has to be so nice to not have to worry about how you are going to pay for treatment.

We dont have health insurance, we just use the National Health Service (NHS). Its free to see the doctor and then you pay for your meds (which i think is about £6.50 per item so thats about $13). Im not sure on this but i think fertility stuff like IVF, IUI etc has a waiting list which is really big or you can pay to do it privately.

Things are so different where you live. Sounds like a pretty good set up though

We also have tricare. All my meds and procedures are covered as long as we are still doing everything on our own. Once we move to IUI, then we start with out of pocket costs.

I have health insurance. It coves some infertility, but not much. I haven't looked into it too much. My company started a new insurance plan this past year. Anyone can elect to have that insurance instead of the normal one. That one works very different and will pay up to x amount of dollars each year for infertility treatments. I don't remember what that amount is. I know it sounds like a lot, but once someone starts treatment, I'm sure she blows through it quite quickly. It's a really nice option to be able to choose between the 2 types of insurance. This year is the trial run. I don't know how successful it's been or if they'll keep it as an option.

No insurance here, we paid for it out of pocket and it wasn't that bad honestly. The doc waived fees and made others 15% off. The appts were cheaper than paying a monthly premium.

I have insurance but it doesn't cover infertility treatments...so I **think** my midwife is coding stuff right now as non-fertility type stuff...but I could be wrong. So far we haven't had to pay anything but co-pays.

I have insurance. I'm really not sure what is covered, though. I do know there is some kind of a Hawaii law stating that insurance needs to cover IVF if a couple has been trying for 5 years, but that's about all I know. I tried researching my plan, but I couldn't really find out anything useful.

I'll have to double check, but I think our insurance covers some infertility treatments... I'm not 100% sure though. I know they cover the testing and stuff, but I'll have to look into like IUIs and IVF and stuff.

Ours will cover diagnostic tests (bloodwork, HSG, etc) but it won't cover anything related to infertility treatment (any meds, IUI, IVF). I'll try to find out more about it when we visit the RE, they have a financial person and I'd like to find out of any of our dr visits or ultrasounds might be covered, but I doubt it.

My insurance covers diagnostics, but nothing past that. So, last month, the IUI cost us $634 and all the other ultrasounds were covered under insurance up to that point. This month because I have officially been coded as infertility treatments, everything is out of pocket. My ultrasound on Friday was $284 and the one on Monday will $284 and then my IUI on Monday or Tuesday will be $634 and whatever the trigger costs if we go that route. Plus, my clomid was out of pocket too, but it wasn't that pricey because it's on WalMarts cheap drug plan. So, all in all, we are spending about $1300 giver or take this month for treatment. Last month was about a grand with all the doctor appointments, DH's SA, etc. We keep being told not to stress out, but then we get the price tag, and we aren't supposed to stress??

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO which is really good insurance, but I'm honestly not sure what aspect of (in)fertility treatments they cover, if at all. I was really hoping I'd never need to find out. I guess come September, if we're still waiting on our BFP, I'll need to start looking into it a lot more.

Here in Spain we also have a national health service, you have to pay for prescriptions (40% of the drug value, up to 20€ which is about $30) anything on a hospital prescription is free. Also they have just lowered the maximum waiting time for IVF to 180 days, so that is pretty cool (and free!!). Also my DH works in the fertility lab, he has already done an SA and came out really well, he put it in under a false name so that I would believe him! and one of his colleagues could squeeze us in after hours for u/s etc, so no waiting for that either!, and free HPTs (they are the ones they use at DRs offices, so they are good ones). So hopefully we are all covered here! Its just a shame that spanish DRs don´t earn what US doctors do!

Mine covers infertility counseling, treatment, and diagnostics, but not assisted insemination.....no IUI or IVF. Surprisingly it covered my meds last month. We have a $100 deductible too, and after that I can submit my bills to major medical where they cover 80% and I have to pay 20%.
Do all insurance plans have deductibles and major medical? My doctor's office submits the forms for us!
