Hi Ladies.... So, after about a yr of TTC, I finally saw a reproductive endocrinologist. Basically it was a consult to get some background. Then lab work. Prolactin, TSH, FSH and pregnancy test (HCG). All levels were fine, within normal range. BUT... when the nurse called, she said My PREGNANCY test was a "faint positive". HCG was 3. TMI.... On day 29-31 I spotted a brownish-red color. Then on day 32 the flow was heavy and finally after 12 days it's reddish/pink. I'm still bleeding slightly. I usually bleed 3 days. I DID have an HSG procedure to see if my tubes were clear this cycle, which they were.

I just had lab work done today, and will find out if my HCG levels are zero.

Now, i've read conflicting reports. Some say under 5 mIU/mL is considered negative- NOT PREGNANT. Other articles I've read say HCG is only produced by pregnant women. I guess at this point, is it safe to say that I miscarried EARLY on? I've never bled for 12 days, so I find it strange. Has anyone had any experiences with this and are more knowledgable than I am on this issue?

I'm not sure at all either. Last month i thought i MC because i Spotted for 5 days and then got the worst AF ever for 7 more days. I was in so much pain and bleed so much. I have never had a cycle like that before. I went into my dr. and he didn't thik i MC.

I'm not sure about the levels at all though. You may have MC Call your Dr. because i think it will really help to know for sure.

I was always told that a positive is a positive...no matter how faint. Was the bleeding very heavy? Like - going through alot of pads/tampons? Did you have any cramping?

When I had my m/c in February it was horribly painful. My back and abdomen hurt extremely bad (4 advil at time didn't cut the pain).

I know that everyone's body is different so its possible that you m/c'd without having the drastic symptoms.

I would DEFINATELY talk to your doctor, since things don't seem to be adding up.

Thanks. With TTC for so long, I'm on my toes about the slightest differences in each cycle. My lab work (HCG) came back negative today after a LOW 3 mIU/mL a few days ago. Maybe it was one of those cases where the fertilized egg didn't implant properly and the blood work I had was at the tail end of things. DK. I did have back pain, extreme dizziness one morning (almost fell), and nauseous at work one day. I'm STILL bleeding slightly-after 12 days. So, based on bleeding alone, it's quite the possibility-huh? It was heavy last week. So, I'm guessing, based on symptoms and Beta Lab results that we were SOOO close this month. Aw, hopefully soon.
