Hi. We just passed our 7th month of TTC, I am 33 and my husband is 34. I have been doing the charting, the ov prediction kits. I have regular AF, apparently I ovulate, however hubby had testicular torsion when he was younger and only has 1.

I was wondering when do you go and see a doctor?

I called a reproductive endocrinologist today and was suprised to get an appt for mid July (8 months). I thought it would be a longer wait period. DH and I had previously talked about going to the doctor in Sept (10 months). He wasn't too happy about the appt, and I'm thinking maybe just changing it to Sept, as well it will be completely out of pocket, unfortunately our insurance doesn't cover anything regarding this.

I am kinda torn. I know too many people who've had issues. I want to be proactive about it that if something is wrong and it is going to take extra time that we start now or is too early and should I wait until 10 months?

I agree with Michelle. From what I hear, there is a lot of testing to go through, and you may want to get started with that as soon as you can.

I agree you should try and keep the early appointment. I have been told that if you are over 30 and have been trying for more than 6 months then you should see an RE. If you are under 30 then you should see an RE at 1 year. Good Luck, and keep us updated...

I think you should keep the appointment because there is no guarantee that once you start with the appt that you will get pg super quick. I hope this doctor can help y'all get your BFP. Good luck talking your husband into keeping your appointment and getting a BFP.

Keep the early appointment, its better to get the ball rolling as sometimes it take awhile to get everything set for you to TTC.

I'd keep the appointment if you can. It can take months to get all of the testing out of the way if things don't line up just right. I hope they can get you your BFP with minimal testing and treatment since your insurance won't cover it. Good luck!

I would keep the appt too. They may drag their feet and not start the testing till Sept or you won't be able to get in for the testing till Sept. Good Luck convincing DH.

I am going to try to get in to see my OB after this cycle (if we don't get a BFP).

I thought it was 35. Maybe I'm wrong. I'll be 30 next year. That seems on the young side. JMO.
Either way, I'm in agreement with the others about keeping the appt. If you wait until Sept, it may be hard to get another appt. Fertility specialists book up quickly & if you can get a head start on the testing, it's a good idea. Some things take a while to do. Better to have as much info & answers early on, if possible. Good luck & I hope everything moves quickly & you get that BFP.
