Im booking an appointment on Friday to see my GP. AF has just arrived and to be honest, im not surprised. Its just something i have come to expect. I was really hoping that this month would be our month but obviously not.

Im hoping the doc will help me, we have been TTC since December 2006 and then had a break from September 2007 - March 2008.

I know what the problem is, i just need the doctor to do something about it for me! My luteal phase is to short. I often start spotting at 6/7dpo and then get AF pretty soon after. My longest LP is 11 days but had spotting for 2 days prior to that. I usually average 9 days!! How rubbish is that? I have have been taking B6 since January but thats not helping.

I need your advice first!

1. What can the doctor do for me?
2. What questions should i ask him?
3. I have charts from Jan, should i take them with me?

I hope the dr can help you get a BFP. I don't really know what they can do about the lp. I took the b6 and it worked right away for me. Everyone is different though. I would def take your charts with you. I hope someone else has some advice for you. G/L Please KUP

I did some research on this because I have spotting too for days before AF shows. Generally they too blood tests on CD 21, but since not everyone has the same cycle you have to talk to your doctor about that (and I hope your doctor is supportive and can read your charts). The doctor will either put you on progesterone or clomid or something similar. Definitely take your charts with you.

Clare, sounds like you are doing the right thing going to speak to your GP about this.Look on the bright side, you KNOW what the problem is,so im sure from there you and your GP can find something that works for you.
I dont have a great knowledge of these things, but sounds like you are heading down the right path.
I would definitely take my charts with me,but like you say,its a question of whether or not your GP can read them.Im sure they can.
Good luck with everything and KUP.xxx

The most common solutions I've seen for a short LP are progesterone or clomid after using blood work to see just how low your progesterone levels are. Take your charts with you and don't let your knowledge of your body be dismissed. You know what the problem is, you know there are treatments out there. I don't know what your doctor is like, but some blow women off so quickly. I really hope that you get the treatment you need to get your BFP. Good luck!

I hope your GP helps you out. As the others said, they might give you progesterone or clomid. I think this problem is pretty fixable...good luck!
