How many of you plan to cloth diaper? I am and I'm really excited about it too! I love the fluff and the really cute little bottoms. DH isn't as convinced as I am and just thinks I'll get tired of it. I have promised to committ to it and give a true shot. I just think the love for the cute diapers and the ability to see a baby in them will be enough to keep me going...lol! Am I totally strange?

I cloth diaper AJ about 50% of the time right now (because his clothes won't really fit over a lot of them right now). I plan to 100% cloth diaper the next baby though. It really isn't as hard as it sounds. It is just one extra load of laundry every few days. The money you save in diapers is incredible - though you could end up spending it on new cloth dipes if you aren't careful. It is very addictive! You save even more if you hang dry instead of drying in the dryer.

I'm glad I'm not alone. I'm new to sewing, but I want to try to make a few of my own to see if I can do it. I wonder if it will be difficult. I just absolutely love the cloth diapers. My poor husband is tired of hearing about it and isn't totally convinced, but has agreed to give it a try.

I'm undecided. My mom used them on me and my brother about half of the time to help prevent and even treat rashes, but I'm not sure if I could handle scraping poop off of them.

The cool thing about that is that you don't have to scrape poop anymore. They have diaper sprayers and even disposable and biodegradable liners. I know my mom didn't have to use them on us, but we wore those plastic covers when potty training..lol.

I tried special covers to go either with or without panties when I potty trained DD and those were horribly messy! They didn't help keep anything dry and she was so uncomfortable. I probably will cloth diaper the next though if the sprayers/liners are affordable.

From what I have seen the sprayers are about 30 dollars for a good one and the liners are about 13 dollars for 200 of them. I haven't researched those much though to know much about them. I'm just so impressed that cloth diapers have come as far as they have. I hope you get to think if cloth diapering your next one really soon!!

I will almost 100% CD the next baby. When we go on vacations and things, I will probably use Seventh Generation diapers. I cannot wait. I have already started building my stash. There are so many to choose from and they are all so cute.

I don't scrape and I don't have a sprayer (we might get one with the next baby though). I just dump and swish if needed.

I plan to cloth diaper. I've finally convinced Dh to go with it. He's a little grossed out by the thought of diapers with poop on them going in the washer.
SavaAngel, which diapers do you like that aren't so bulky? I'd like the ones I buy to be trim enough so that baby's clothes still fit okay.

We plan to use All-in-Ones since they tend to be trimmer and are the easiest to use. So far I have bought some Bumgenius and Monkey Doodlez. Both came highly recommended. Abby's Lane is a great online store and so is Lil Bunz. I have had nothing but great experiences with both.

I have so many favorites it isn't funny. Cloth diapers are seriously an addiction. I LOVE LOVE LOVE TKCuddlers (cubbies)! They were my favs for going places (when they still fit). I haven't bought a bigger size yet.
My favorite night time diapers are Fuzzi Bunz and another that the name is not coming to me - and I can't find it. I like Penny Change for night time or naps too! I have a heavy wetter when he sleeps so something that will hold a lot of pee is good.
I have a lot of Very Baby's that I got free through a local Freecycle program. They are nice but usually need a doubler. I liked BG's a lot, but AJ learned how to undo them and won't leave them on anymore.
I also like DryBees - at least one of mine is an AIO with a stuffable pocket.
I seriously have one or two of a lot of different dipes and use so many different ones. I plan to do mostly Prefolds (also called flats) with the next baby with probably a lot of Cubbies.
The cloth diapering forum here is a wealth of knowledge and would welcome any of you who have questions now. You could start building a gender neutral stash even if you wanted to or at least figure out what you think you will want.

I'm interested in cloth diapering, but don't know enough about it. If we do it, it'll party depend on whether or not I'm working or staying home.
Anyone know if any of the companies will send a sample? I wouldn't want to use something I've never seen in RL. The only cloth diapers I've ever seen are the old white rectangular ones.
Do the new cloth ones hold stuff in as well as disposable diapers?

With my son (now 2 1/2 years old) we started off with the conventional chinese prefold with plastic covers- we had many many leaks, and I thought they were kind of cumbersome, so I switched over to an adjustable kind call fuzzi bunz (kellyscloset.com) and I am a big fan of them. My son never liked the way being wet felt in them (versus the disposable ones which we used when we were traveling and such- the disposable ones do a little better job of holding the moisture away from the skin, I think) so he would sign for (or later on, ask for) a change right away after peeing- and he ended up potty training in just a day or two at his second birthday! I really think that is due to the cloth diapers. The bonus is, that I can just use the fuzzi bunz again for the next kid. As for washing them- you just dump the solids in the toilet before washing- which you are supposed to do with diposables anyhow That way the poop goes down the toilet and is properly treated, rather than being held in the disposable diaper and leaking into the soil in a dump, which contaminates the water table.
With the fuzzi bunz, and all cloth diapers I think, you have to use non-oil based detergents because the oil will prevent the cloth from absorbing. I used one called Charlies soap, also from kellyscloset.com.
They also have some really cute colors/patterns available.

I doubt we will use cloth diapers. DF doesn't like the idea at all (Though he would go with it if I really wanted him to!), but I'm too sure about it. I have to learn more about it first.

Some companies offer a trial package that you can use and then if you don't like them or they are the wrong size or something you can send back for a partial refund.
Most of the time with my son - cloth held all the pee and poop in better than a disposable.
