I had my appointment with the doctor today to discuss why were weren't pregnant yet. He was a bit of a waste of time at first, he just wanted Df to have a semen analysis and that would be it. I nagged a little and told him my concerns about my short LP, he eventually gave in and said he would do blood work on me. I need to schedule an appointment next week, this will be hard work due to school so im going to have to go into work late one day - this means begging for the time off. Df is going to call tomorrow about his semen analysis. We can finally start to find some answers!

I have the request form for my blood work and it says LH, FSH and a hormonal essay (there is also something else beginning with T but i cant read his writing!) What do they stand for?

Lutenizing Hormone is the only one I remember the full name of. It sounds like he's going to do practically a full hormone analysis on you and get it all done at once. Depending on where you are in your cycle there may be some stuff you'll have to have tested at a later time, but it's definitely a good start. I hope you get the answers you need!

I think it depends on what he's looking for. There are number ranges that will tell them if you've ovulated, if you're about to, if your hormones aren't right for that to happen, etc. You may need future, more specific, blood tests on certain cycle days to better pinpoint a hormone problem.

LH is lutenizing hormone(that is the the surge OPK's detect) FSH is follicle stimulating hormone, TSH is another one alone those lines. Sounds like he is covering all the bases. I hope you get some answers! And most of the tests are best run on CD3 for an initial panel, with progesterone being checked at 7 DPO. you may want to call on that

Good news then....I'm glad you pushed to get the ball rolling. I had all those tests ran too. If you google fertility testing or fertility bloodwork, something like that, it comes up with a lot of websites you can check out. Good luck!
