Okay, I sat down here about 10 minutes ago, and I started having some serious anxiety and nervousness. I mean kinda shaky and the whole nine like I have each time I've been at the doctor's office this cycle. This is not normal for me. Then a few minutes after that I wanted to burst into tears. I still feel sad and like I could cry. These stupid painful cramps tell me that AF is on her way next week, so I guess my mind is just preparing myself for next week. Why can't this work for us?? We are completely done when AF shows because we can't afford anymore treatments.

Sorry for being so negative, just needed to vent...

Tami

This month was close to $1400. Last month was about $700 because it was unmedicated. That signaled my treatment beginning and now everything is out of pocket, including ultrasounds, etc. So, with my testing, and both IUIs we have spent about 3 grand in the past month or so. We had to pull from savings for this month because we used our extra on last month and testing. We just don't have it. Not month after month. I can't honestly say when we will again. (Currently have to replace our AC unit) I can only imagine that it will get more expensive with more stuff being added to the list.

TX does not mandate that insurance companies offer fertility coverage, just that insurance companies offer it to the employers, who in turn don't have to offer it to the employees. So, my insurance covers NOTHING related to infertility/fertility.

Please don't count yourself out yet. A lot of women do get AF cramping early in pregnancy as the uterus adjusts to its new tenant. I think there's a thread on the TTC Grad board that talks about early pregnancy cramping, but it may be a DDC. I just can't remember for sure. I'm going to keep hoping that you get your BFP next week. AF will 100% beyond a doubt be hitting me, maybe as early as today, so hopefully I'll distract her enough that she'll leave you alone.

I am so sorry you are suffering through this!! I wish I had some magic words that would make things easier for you. I agree with MamaAnna, though. Don't count yourself out just yet. Early pregnancy pains feel pretty much the same as AF pain.

I would like to believe that about all of this, but it's just like every other month. The cramps were a little more painful yesterday, but we'll just see. I am so discouraged that I'm having ice cream for breakfast.

Nothing wrong with ice cream for breakfast. Just don't make my mistake and eat a whole pint! That's when the tummy ache usually kicks in.

No pint for me, just an M&M ice cream bar - yummy, but it didn't stop my tears of frustration and disappointment. I mean - okay, AF is coming, why torture me for a week with stupid painful cramps? I hate my body.

I'm sorry that you feel that AF is around the corner. I hope and pray that she isn't. Does your insurance offer any kind of discount program for non-covered expenses?? My insurance doesn't cover fertility treatments, but they do offer a discount program that is better than paying 100% out of pocket.

We're here if you need to vent. (((hugs)))

Ditto.

I hate that nothing we decide to do will be covered by insurance, it is stressful, because like you said, who can afford to shell out an extra $1500 or so every single month? Ugh.

I hope you are wrong and you are pregnant. But I can understand why it's hard for you to think that you are.

Tons of babydust to you!

Thanks for the baby dust. I hope I'm wrong too, but I'm usually not. Although, my DH keeps wanting to know if I'm making a baby in there. I keep telling him not to get his hopes up. He just looked at me last night because I had a meltdown in the bathtub and I had such serious anxiety. I RARELY have anxiety issues and for it to come on like that just took me by surprise. Then I had another meltdown this morning and am struggling to not cry anymore.

Insurance issues suck. My favorite is when the doctor's office tells us not to stress, but then they hit us with the stupid costs of getting treatment. I guess I'm just so frustrated too because it's like okay, we had to stop TTC after six months before with all the issues then after waiting our entire marriage to have a baby because of stupid thyroid cancer. So, I get to gain weight and suffer all the side effects waiting for my meds to be stabalized again since I no longer have a thyroid. So, needless to say, about six months later, I was thrilled when we got to try again and now here we are 3 grand later and nothing to show for it.

Shannon, I hope you get some answers from your RE and get a sticky BFP soon hun.

Tami
