I have never gotten a positive opk either, and I've been using them for 7 months. I O on cd 14, temp rise on 15, and the opks start getting darker on about cd 12, then they approach positive, but the never actually get to be a true positive, where the test line is darker that the control. This is testing 2 times a day, as well. I questioned my Dr about it last time I saw him- his response was that the most important thing was to know that I was ovulating, which I can confirm by a biphasic chart and a regular cycle. I have read where some people have a really sharp LH surge, meaning there is a very very small window in which a test would come up positive. I'm just assuming that that's my situation, although when I'm really discouraged about being on my 7th month TTC, and I start to question what is wrong with me, that is one thing that nags in my mind (not getting a positive OPK, that is)
