I just went on there and saw a baby pic on my 17 year old cousin's page. WTH?! I look and YUP, she had a baby about a month ago. Seriously, what the heck, she is 17 and has a baby?! Argggh.
The situation with my SIL is getting to me also. I have absolutely lost any vestige of thinking that she will be able to care for her baby. My MIL told Dh that she isn't going to her OB appointments.
WHAT!?
She was in the hospital several months ago for 4 DAYS because of a kidney infection and yet she just ISN'T GOING to the doctor anymore?!
I seriously don't understand.
1. She has no job so all she does is sit around. She has all the time in the world to go.
2. She is on Medicare so she doesn't have to pay anything.
3. My inlaws are letting her use their minivan, so she has transportation.
She has everything she needs to go and yet she doesn't. So how is she going to take care of an infant when things are actually TOUGH?! I just can't believe how irresponsable she is. I'm sorry, but IMO, she does not deserve to be a mom.

GAH!!! I hate hearing about women who get pregnant so easily and don't take care of their babies! Keep your chin up... It sounds like you are surrounded right now.
It doesn't seem fair that God sends babies to so many women who don't / can't take care of them; but not to those of us that are 100% ready to love and care for them.

Okay - I'm just furious now. Do you want me to come smack them all? I am so sick of girls/women having babies that don't care for them, refuse to care for them, and just don't care. It's sickening. I'm sorry you are dealing with that.
Maybe your SIL will grow up and start going to the doctor. At least we can hope...

argh. Isn't it frustrating?? I have a 20 year old cousin (very immature 20), living with a bf that isn't allowed at our family's houses (long story), who is now pregnant. She told her 13 year old sister, but no one else. Fortunately for us, her sister can't keep a secret for the life of her. But she was still 4 months along before someone made her go to the dr. Then she posts on Myspace too about how happy she is about the pregnancy!

I really makes me feel sick to my stomach to hear about a baby that isn't being properly taken care of, especially in utero. They are just completely helpless and it's unfortunate for those little ones that don't have someone to shower them with love and care. Is the father in the picture? Does he care that she isn't taking proper precautions to make sure everyone involved stays healthy?

I think he is the picture because she said before that she wanted "try to see if she can make things work with him". But I really don't know. The whole thing concerns me because even though I think she has been completely stupid, I do care about her and I want the baby to be okay. But at the same time the whole thing just makes me sick because I feel like I should be the one getting to have a baby.

Amen, sister!! We've all felt like that regardless of how much we care about the people in our lives that get what we want the most and don't appreciate it!

That sucks! My SIL keeps telling me how bad it sucks to be pregnant, and she know we have been trying for over a year. Tell it to someone who would not kill for the opportunity to be pregnant.

What's wrong with people? Seriously, is it because there is a full moon that everyone is acting like total jerks, even though they have knowledge of our situations?
*passing out beating sticks* <--- Use that on anyone who makes a stupid TTC remark. I'm sure it'll make us feel much better and they won't make the same mistake twice!

LOL!!! Oh that is too funny girl. Next time my FIL starts talking about how we need a vacation, I'm going to be thinking, "Don't make me pull out my beating stick."
And yup, I have gotten a few comments from SIL about how she's tired or whatever, kinda complaining a bit. Ticks me off because I'd give my right arm to be pregnant.

Wow, I am so sick of this, too. My step-sister had her baby at 17, and doesn't have a job or go to school. The father doesn't have a job either. They live at his parents. He's abusive. Broke her nose already. They are always in need of formula, diapers .. They don't provide anything for their child, and just expect hand outs. Oh, and when she was pregnant, she didn't go to the doctor until she was about five months, and even then, she didn't go like she was supposed to. My poor niece is not being taken care of like she should. DF and I wish we could adopt her, because we know how we would take such better care of her. This is hard to say because she is my sister, but it's the truth!
