So, I'm pretty sure that AF is well on her way and the stupid IUI didn't work this cycle. I'll go and listen to what the RE has to say, but I'm feeling let down and disappointed. I feel like since in his words "there is nothing wrong with you" that I should be pregnant by now and I'm not. We have spent 3 grand with testing, and all my treatment in a little over a month and a half. We just don't have that kind of money for further treatments. So, I'm thinking that I'll go in and talk to my ob/gyn and just be up front with her and say "Ok, look, we want a baby, this is what's been done, what can you help me do?" She's been wonderful to me, but isn't a fertility specialist. However, it will only cost me my copay to go see her which would be freaking fabulous after all we have spent.

What do y'all think I should do? Seriously, we just can't afford more fertility treatments that don't seem to be working for a person who is completely normal, especially not right now.

I am not sure. Did your RE give you any next options that you can afford or would be willing to try. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be to be told that they don't know why you cannot get pregnant. I wish you tons of luck.

Oh, he hasn't said he doesn't know why I can't get pregnant. Honestly, I think he has been timing my IUI's badly and we have just flushed a butt load of money down the toilet. I don't feel like I'm getting what I should from this and that I'm being overcharged for things that should be included in the IUI, but whatever. I'm afraid that if he even suggests an invasive surgery to check for other things, that because he keeps coding everything with the infertility code, that my insurance won't cover it.

I don't have the money for that surgery if he does that. Regardless, we are going to be talking about what we can do without the IUI for a while because we just can't keep putting this type of money out every few weeks, which is what it equals out to. Two weeks or so before O, ultrasounds in between that are $300 a pop, and then the IUI which is $700 a pop. Then the 2WW which results in nothing to only turn around and do it again. I would love to do treatments back to back until we get pg, just financially, it's not an option since my insurance doesn't cover anything related to fertility treatments.

Oh wow, I am so sorry! I don't think that talking to your OBGYN could hurt. It may even help to go back through your records (before you started TTC) to see if anything stands out now, that may not have back then. Maybe an illness or blood work. It's worth a shot!

I would def. talk to your OBGYN - its a fresh set of eyes looking at things. You seem to have a great relationship with her - so tell her how you feel and what is going on. I'm sure there is alot they can do in regards to evaluation that wouldn't be coded as fertility treatments.

((((hugs)))))

I would talk to your OBGYN too. Maybe she will see something or have another idea that can get covered under your insurance. Good luck!
