Well girls, I went in for my monthly clomid check with the doctor today. He checked and I don't have any cysts, so that's good. He then told me he wants me to take my clomid CD 3 - 7 this month, hoping for an earlier O date. Last month I o'd on CD 16, he would like to see CD 14. Then we discussed what to call CD 1. I started brown spotting on Wednesday and it was very minimal, but he still wants me to consider that CD 1. So, I start my clomid tonight. What do you girls think? Do you call brown spotting/ light flow CD 1?? Just wondering. I hope it doesn't make a big difference.
I always count CD1 as the first day I have flow - enough to need a panty liner or tampon. But that's just me. I agree with Jamie - your Dr. knows you best and is prescribing the meds, so go with his theory!
Some docs say the first day should only be counted if you need a liner/tampon after 7:00 pm. I asked my doc about that this cycle and she didn't seem to care. AF started at 10:00 pm on Sunday. She told me I could count Sunday or Monday as CD 1. I counted Monday as CD1 this time. I don't think it'll make too much of a difference which day you count as 1.

I took clomid for 3 months, and my doctor told me to count CD1 as the first day I saw blood, whether it was spotting or full blown AF. It did make me ovulate, although it didn't help me get pregnant. Good luck!!
I know that I'm late, but I wanted to say that I was always told that the first day of flow, be it light, or heavy, is the first day of a new cycle. Spotting doesn't count, but once you cross that fine line to a light flow it's CD 1. I hope the Clomid helps and you get your BFP this cycle. Good luck!
