Well........................we have a beautiful baby and a hb of 115. I'm so relieved. I am exactly on schedule at 6w3d. My dd is Feb 17, but I will have a scheduled c-section. So, it will be 1-2 weeks before that. Woohoo!!!! I got a whole bag full of sample vitamins, pg magazines, a pregnancy and after book, etc. It is awesome! I also found out my dr office does a 15 week u/s to determine the sex of the baby. It's $75.00 or you can just wait until the 20w one that insurance will cover.. I want to know early. That's only 7 weeks away! They also do the 3/4d u/s for $125.00 between 28-32 weeks. I'll have to talk to dh about that one.

They took 5 vials of blood They will check for cystic fibrosis. She asked me about the testing for downs because of my age. I don't want to do an amnio though. There is a high m/c rate there. But they can do b/w and an u/s at 12-13 weeks and it will diagnose about 90% of the time. So, I'll do that. Has anyone else done these tests?

I am just over the moon with happiness right now. I will try to get my u/s pic scanned a little later and post. I love you all.

Michelle, what a wonderful appointment for such a wonderful mommy! Everything sounds perfect!

I had an amnio with DS since we knew I was a carrier for hemophilia A. In hindsight, i was worried about the risk of m/c, but so happy I found out he had it before he was born. I was able to grieve and accept it b/c I really fell apart when I got the diagnosis.

Thanks Jamie! They do a vaginal u/s. I could see it and hear it. It was awesome. I can't wait until you go.

She said that is a routine test now. I don't know why.

That's awesome! Congrats on hearing that heartbeat. My RE did testing on me to see if I was a carrier for cystic fibrosis. My Re said that they test for those things to be prepared, etc. I hope you don't have any complications.

What an awesome appt! I'm so happy for you!! Sounds like everything is going just according to plan.

I think I'd want to do everything as early as possible too... cost or no cost. That's not too terrible although it might cost more in NY. DH & I are gonna fight it out though...he doesn't want to find out the sex until we give birth. I want to find out early. No way I could wait!! He's a stubborn tough cookie, but hi, I'm carrying the baby!!
