I don't know if anyone else caught it last night, but it was the series premiere of Hopkins on ABC. It's a documentary type show that follows the lives of drs at Johns Hopkins.

Anyhoo..there was a female urologist who did a VR on a pt who wanted to have more kids. They said he had really good sperm & she advised the couple to BD every other day. So even though he had no problems w/ sperm count or motility, she said it was better to do it every other day to give time to replenish the sperm count.

I know I've heard this before, but I guess I still feel it might not be enough. I know there's been some debate on this topic.. on which is better. I thought it was interesting that this is even recommended for couples w/ "normal, healthy fertility". Just thought I'd share what I saw last night.

My midwife suggested every other day at one point and time...so that's what we've been doing. I looked back at my PG chart with Bailey and we BD'd both days before O.

So...this cycle we're going to try that again - it can't hurt!

I've heard every day is fine as long as the male doesn't have sperm issues. My DH's SA came back normal, but we tend to BD every day. We just got too burnt out trying to BD every day when I never Od around the same time and we could potentially need to BD for 3 to 4 weeks to catch the egg. I'm using OPKs this month on top of my Clomid. I'm hoping that'll give me a better idea of when we need to BD. We've got an every other day pattern going right now, but if I get a + OPK we'll try to switch to every day. It's about time we finally catch an egg.

Medically i just dont know.Im thinking that since we all are in the same boat and desperately TTC , whenever we can,and especially, whenever we want to BD we should.
It cant hurt,I hope!

My doctor recommended the every other day too. He told us to BD at night before going to bed and not to empty my bladder, just lay there and fall asleep. I was worried about getting a UTI or something, but last month, I didn't. We also didn't catch that darn eggie either. I just don't know what to do. I was thinking about doing it every other day until I get my peak reading on my FM, then doing it both peak days. So it would probably be 3 days in a row. Who knows?? I'll try anything at this point.

I tried that last month during the three peak days as well (didn't get up afterwards...just went to sleep).
I didn't get any signs of a UTI from it, but also, didn't get catch that elusive egg either. So who knows what works. The person that figures out the magic combination for guarenteed success could surely be a millionaire though.
