My RE's nurse called that my lab results came back and I do NOT have immunity to Rubella. So I have to go get the vaccine today or tomorrow and AVOID conception this month. How wild is that?! Do I even know how to do that anymore?!

I'm bummed because Thomas was going to be an April baby, so a part of me wanted to get pregnant with another April baby. And now I definitely won't be pg a whole year after I got pg with him. I guess all I can hope for now is that I'm pg before his loss date in September.

So no Clomid and I think I will just wait until next cycle for the HSG. As much as I REALLY want to know the results, I know that the HSG increases your chances of getting pregnant, so I'd rather do it when I can actually try.

Anyone else have to wait because of a Rubella vaccination? It just seems like such a "waste" of a month now, but there's no nothing I can do about it.

I'm sorry hon. (((hugs)))

But - like you said, the HSG increases your pg chances so next month could be THE month!! This way Thomas has a month all to himself.

May babies are AWESOME! I should know, I am one.

You are in my prayers and I hope tomorrow goes well.

Good luck with the vaccine. I am sorry you won't be able to try next cycle. But like Becky said - May is a great month too! My GMIL, MIL, and a nephew are born in May!

I didn't have to wait, but I was checked for a Rubella immunity before ttc. I'm surprised your doc didn't do that a long time ago as I thought it was routine. It's good they tested, but it's too bad you have to wait. Hopefully you'll get that May baby.

Im sorry you have to wait Shannon. You have so much on your plate right now but maybe this "break" will refresh you a little. I like the way baileysmomma thinks...let April be Thomas's month all to himself.

I'm so sorry you have to sit out a month, but maybe the break will be for the better. It'd give you a chance to relax, mentally & physically before gearing up for another month.

Your right, it would be hard to be getting all the signs that you are Oing and not act on it, but it will protect that future baby of yours to wait, right? Just the one of the first of many sacrifices you can make for that precious little one that will be on it's way hopefully real soon!

I'm so sorry you have to wait. It's definitely a good thing though! My cousin had rubella when she was pregnant and her baby was born 100% blind. Waiting until this has passed will really be a great step in the early protection of your baby.

Thanks girls. I know in the grand scheme of things one month is not a big deal but it is frustrating. May is still a great month and that is nice way of thinking about it that April gets to be Thomas' month.

I wish my original dr (the one I saw last May) had told me to check this before we started TTC. Oh well.

I'm trying to think of what I can do this month while we're on a break that I can't normally do. But I don't drink or have any "vices" so I am drawing a blank.

Thanks for sharing that. It makes me feel like I am doing the right thing (even though I'm not crazy about vaccines) because I work in a hospital so I'd be worried about being exposed.

Shannon, May is a great month to have a baby. Mason was born in May before it was too hot and I had the whole summer off.

At least we are in the summer months now so hopefully the time will go by faster for you until you can try again!

Hang in there- HUGS to you!!

That is a great reason to wait, but I'm sorry you have to! What a pita. You are definitely doing the right thing, and thank goodness your RE checked for that considering you work in the health care industry.

I had to face the decision to get it or not... I chose not to get it, but in my research I found some info about the vax and ttc-

the vax manufacturer says to wait 3 months before ttc. http://www.merck.com/product/usa/pi_circul...ruvax_ii_pi.pdf
see page 2 of this link- near the bottom.

My RE also said to only wait 1 month- and finding out that the manufacturer of the vax says wait 3 months upset me so greatly.... I just want you to be better informed then that, b/c it would be horrible for you to have a baby with something wrong b/c you got pregnant too soon after the vax.

here is my thread on my choice and research.
