Hello girls, just need a little bit of help here with my chart. I made the mistake yesterday of playing around with FF and temps. Well I figured out yesterday that if today's temperature was 98 or higher, FF was going to change my O date from CD 18 to CD20. Well, this morning's temp was 97.9, so FF kept my O date as CD 18. By looking at my chart, I thought it would be CD 20 based on the temp rise, but my CBEFM gave me peak readings on CD 18 and 19. I'm so confused.
Soooooo, please vote!!!!!!!
What day do you think I O'ed?
Thanks girls!!!

I don't know so I didn't vote, but wanted to tell you that invariably, FF puts the wrong peak day that I think it should be every month. I chart FF on top of charting the Billings Ovulation Method.

Voted! It's kind of hard to decipher- but I looked at your previous coverlines, and they would agree with CD 20 being O day, that why I voted the way I did.
BUT, if you go by TCOYF guidelines for determining coverline and O day- it would be CD 17. I think that method is worded something like a temperature that is .2 degrees higher than any of the last 5 days, then you draw the coverline .1 degree higher. I am relatively new to FF (5 months), but have charted using TCOYF methods on paper for number of years prior, so I am more familiar with that method of determining.
So I guess I'm not much help. I've probably just confused the issue more. Sorry!
The good news is, it looks like regardless of what day it is, you've got your bases covered with BDing (Yay for that!). So it's just a matter of possibly having to wait a little longer than expected, to see if it worked.
Good luck!

I don't know a whole lot about the CBEFM as I don't use it, but just going by temp rise alone, I picked cd 20. I don't know if it's possible to have gotten a peak reading and then down to high on the day you O.
I think FF picks the O dates in part based on the 3 sustained higher temps. I know some ladies have problems with them picking the right day. It's always been right for me. Have you played around with the different methods (like FAM, etc)? Maybe that'd change things..

Agreed. Cervical Fluid and Position might help you pick a more definative day if that's what you are going for. Hopefully you won't need to try that though because there won't be a next cycle!

Thanks girls! This cycle is out of wack for me. In my previous cycles I was comfortable with the CH that FF gave me, this cycle I'm not. CM is pretty hard since I've been on clomid. And this may sound dumb, but I'm not really sure what to feel for when it comes to CP. I never really understood it, so if anyone wants to try to explain that, it would be great. In my previous cycles with the CBEFM, FF always gave me CH on my first peak reading, so I don't know.
Thanks girs.....I truly appreciate you taking the time to look at it.

Well, I can try, but I'm not sure it will be the best description. If you've never felt your cervix for sure, then the best time to start is right around your period (just before or immediately after). During that time it will probably be pretty low and closed and firm, so it will feel distinct from anything else in the area. If you've not had a child vaginally before, then it will feel kind of like a donut, with the same firmness as the tip of your nose. The tip of your finger should cover the whole tip of the cervix. (This is probably obvious, but your hands should be freshly washed before attempting). If you've had a child vaginally, the cervix opening will be not quite as round; a little more oval shaped.
As you get close to ovulation, it will soften up and take on more the texture of your lips, and also get progressively more open (like you could put a finger up into the hole by the time you ovualte, although you probably shouldn't , and also get higher. I remember is by using the acronym, SHO (soft, high, open) is the most fertile cervical position. Right at O time, it may be so high that you can't find it, so that's not a good time to start looking for it for the first time
Then after ovulation, it will firm up a bit again and come down and close. I spend most of the two week wait with a cervix that is medium length/medium softness/medium to closed opening. Then the few days before AF it goes to low, firm, and closed.
Hope this helps. Maybe someone can ditto what I wrote just to make sure I have it right.
