Anyone reading any good books?
Would you rather read a book or a magazine (or watch tv? LOL)?

It's not real light reading. It's a book called St. Peter vs St Paul and it describes differences in the each missionary message. I started it on the feast of St Peter and St Paul (Catholic church) and it's SLOW reading.
Before that it was a lighter read. Plain Truth by Jody Pcioult about an Amish girl who had a baby out of wedlock.
Off topic, but Melissa I was just checking out your chart at the bottom of your post- looking good! Are you having any symptoms? When will you test?

Kudos to you for keeping up with a slow book! I think I'd have given up. I tried reading A New Earth (Eckhart Tolle)...from Oprah & I just could not get into it. It's in my trunk right now I got sucked into The Pillars of the Earth (Ken Follett) (another OPrah book) and just finished it...all 970-something pages! It was SO good!
Thanks for looking at my chart!!
Honestly, I'm not all that sure what to think. I've been at this for so long that I don't want to get my hopes up. I woke up w/cramps this am & thought I got AF. Then I realized it was way too early. I've had cramping on & off all day but no spotting. Other than that, not too too much. Sore bbs (nipples actually), on & off dizziness & some discomfort when dh & I dtd the other night.

I started A New Earth too....haven't gotten very far yet. It's sitting on my table waiting for me to pick it up again. A friend of mine read it and said it was slow to start, but really good once you got into it some. I obviously haven't reached that point yet.

I love books! I am always reading one. At the minute im reading The Island by Victoria Hislop. Its about a young woman who decided to go back to Greece to visit her mothers family after finding out information about her mothers past. The story develops around a former leper colony on Spinalonga. Im enjoying it so far.
I also love to read magazines, i usually get OK magazine for celebrity news!

I'm not currently reading anything, but if you girls are looking for a good read...anything by Lorna Landvik. She's not an Oprah author, but her books are so awesome. I usually by one, and end up reading it in a day! Some of the titles are Angry Housewives Eatiing Bon Bons, Patty Jane's House of Curl, Your Oasis on Flame Lake, and Oh My Stars.
Caseyb - did you know that your book about the Amish girl is a lifetime movie? If you haven't seen it already, you should try and catch it. It seems like it usually airs about once a month.

I'm always reading as well. I have a problem with trying to read more than one book at a time
I just finished Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. It was very interesting. Not the best book I've ever read, but the story was engaging and it had a unique narrative style.
I'm finished a book of short stories last night. I'm now re-reading A Feast for Crows by George RR Martin until I can get back to the library.
I would suggest anyone who hasn't read it to pick up The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. It read it about 6 years ago and should pick it up again. It's a great read! If you're looking for brainless chicklit, Can You Keep A Secret, Save Karyn and 20 Times a Lady are great reads.

Im reading Year of Fog right now. Im not too sure about it yet...a very easy read.
Melissa, Im glad to see you loved Pillars of the Earth. I have it next on my list of books to read. I am taking it with me to Chicago next weekend to read while DH is working.
I LOVE all of the books by Jodi Picoult. All of her stories really suck me in!
Im always up for good books to read, so if anyone ever comes across a good one, please let me know!

My mom told me that when she lent it to me to read. I didn't realize that it was still airing though. I'll have to try to find it.

I will grab a paperback with an interesting title from the library whenever I go. My trips are usually very short with a toddler in tow. I used to take long leisurely trips to the library - not anymore. I have two books I started forever ago that I am half way through both. I put them down to read something else and haven't been back to them yet.

I just finished reading the 14th book in the Janet Evanovich series. Now I need to find something else....I like brainless chic lit that has mystery and humor. Any suggestions?
