Is it possible to have negative OPK's and STILL have a thermal shift indicating O?

And, do ALL noticable thermal shifts mean for sure your that you O'd?

Reason I'm asking is I've had negative OPK's since Thursday, I should O today or tomorrow (I don't know why I started them so early). This is my third month charting...the first month I got dotted CH (I thought due to lack of EWCM); the second month I had solid CH then FF changed to dotted after I dipped below CL a couple of times; and this month I think the shift happened today which means O was yesterday (yet another day early in my cycle). So, does that mean I'm not really Oing and that's why the OPK's are negative? But, if I have a thermal shift does that mean I O'd with the negative OPK's?

Sorry to ramble with the questions. I hope everybody knows what I'm asking. The questions just started flying from my brain to my fingers.

I have tried OPK's several different cycles and never had any luck getting a positive. I personally think they don't work for everyone - its so hard to catch the surge.

I would def. go off of your chart...especially your CM. If you have watery right now, I would say you're getting ready to O. For me, I get watery before I get EWCM.

I would BD just to be safe!

Good luck hon!

I don't ever get a totally positive one (even testing 2x's a day), but they do approach positive, so I'm guessing I just have a really sharp LH surge which is hard to catch. But I don't know for sure.

But Hmm..your situation sounds like a tough one to figure out. Do you get any change in the test line of the OPK's around ovulation (ex: it approaches the darkness of the line, but never gets as dark as the control line)? Or does it just stay white?
Are you holding your urine for 4 hours?
What is the sensitivity of the tests you are using?

I've heard that different brands are different and some people can't get positive ones even if they are Oing. So I would say that you still could be even if you haven't had a positive. But like the other ladies asked what are the sensitivity levels? and are you using FMU? or holding it and testing in the afternoon?, are you testing once a day or twice? Good luck hun and keep us updated! Hope you catch the eggie!!!

Thanks everybody!!

I didn't look at the sensitivity level of them. I took one on Thursday, one on Friday, 2 on Saturday, and 2 on Sunday. Every one of them I held for close to, if not, 4 hours (one or two may have been a 3 hour one) and every one of them had the same result....a very faint line. This is the first time I've ever used them (and probably won't again) so I can't say how they reacted to other time, but each one this time were exactly the same. As for watery before EWCM....I was on BCP for 3 years before going off the end of January and haven't seen EWCM since before I went on BCP. And, right now, I'm not sure if the watery is "real" or not....I've been taking Mucinex in order to try and get something other than sticky or creamy.

Thanks again for the help and if you have any more ideas, please let me know.
