Hi Girls,
I had a visit with my GYN scheduled for tommorrow to discuss 10 months of TTC (with well timed intercourse..so she's willing to see me before the 12 month mark). It got canceled due to a scheduling error (grr...) but I am still seeing her- just 2 weeks later now.
I'm armed with all of my charts, my recent pap smears, and my history of blood tests for my thyroid disorder, which has remained steady thruought the whole time we have been TTC.
Sooo...feelin' a little nervous here. Can anybody clue me in on what to expect at this first visit? My LP fluctuates a bit more than I'm comfortable with (usually 11 days, but can be anywhere from 10-13), so I'm guessing she might arm me with some Prog.
Beyond that, I have no idea if intial visits usually include bloodwork, a male SA, ultrasounds, etc? Have those of you who are on Clomid been started on it immediately, or was that a result of something being askew in bloodwork. Should I expect to be seeing her monthly now?
I hate the unknown. Just thought maybe someone could share their experiences with intial consults and what plans were put into action and for what reason.
I have a clearly bi-phasic chart every month with a sustained temp rise, so I know I'm ovulating. We have well timed intercourse, and I have been pregnant before (on the first try with DS, as luck would have it, then an early miscarriage at 16DPO in March)
Any advice or thoughts about what might happen?

I don't know what to tell you to expect but I wanted to wish you good luck! I hope you can get some answers and figure out a way to get you pregnant!

Well..I can tell you my experience with my midwife. I went in with my charts and we went over my TTC efforts in detail for each month. We looked at my charts and she asked me lots of questions. She had my blood drawn to look at my hormone levels. Everything looked ok except my progesterone was borderline. So, she had me try one more month naturally and then gave me the script for Femara. I get my blood drawn on CD 20 to check my progesterone level.
So...for me, I haven't had an u/s or any other tests done. I hoping that if we're not pg this cycle I'll be able to go in and have more tests done start solving this puzzle!
Good luck hon!!!!

I would just come with about any questions you can think of. Even if they seem dumb. My first appt. I was CD3 so we discussed our options, did bloodwork, did a baseline ultra sound, and talked about TTCMA in general. It was honestly the best appt. I have had so far!
I hope everything goes perfectly! This is awesome that you are getting one step closer to your BFP!! If you have any questions just let me know!!

I would think she'll want to do progesterone tests for you, as well as possibly some other tests, including a SA, bloodwork, u/s.... are you getting a referal to an RE, or just working with your OB/gyn?

Well, we have military health insurance, so I can't ever predict what they will do. I'm guessing since an RE would involve a civilian referal, I'll just be sticking with the OB/GYN, at least initially.
I had an u/s by the same OB clinic about 5 months ago while I was having my miscarriage, so I know they have those results, although I don't know if it was thorough enough for them to not have to repeat on now.
Oh well, I guess I'll just do whatever they request!
i definitely think a prog check would be in order in my case!

I know when I went to my appt with my OB/GYN we talked about everything related to TTC, I showed him my charts and then he ordered blood work and a U/S. I have to call back this week to see about the results of everything and see where he wants to go from there.. just thought I'd share since we have Tricare too.
