Well, we got the results from the sperm analysis back. He has 80% motility...44 million count, which is good considering he missed part of the sample in the cup. I thought that the lab would also test the morphology and the liquification of the sample. We were only given results of the motility and count???? I see my doctor for a fertility consult tomorrow morning.... so I am hoping he can give us some help!

Yesterday I also received the information that I requested from my insurance company. Apparently, they do provide some (VERY) limited coverage, BUT, all coverage ends on the DAY I TURN 40!!!!!! ummmm, I am 39 now. Nothing like feeling even MORE pressure to conceive soon! I have until June, but it is quite disconcerting to know that once I turn 40 I am on my own. I would think they would provide coverage until at least 42. Honestly, I don't even feel like I am 39! I am in good shape (relatively) and I don't drink or smoke. Seems like they would adjust the age to take into consideration that some women are waiting until later in life to have kids! Although, I did have my first two children at 26 & 28.... I wanted another child about 5 years ago when I was still married to my ex. He had a vasectomy after our second child and didn't even want to consider any of our options. (I am happy about that now, because honestly, 2 kids with that man is enough). But since my divorce I am with a great man that has no kids and we really want to have a child together. I guess I will just have to be patient and know that it will happen eventually. We did conceive once but had a miscarriage at 8wks.

Is it common for insurance to cover fertility treatments at all????? And do others have age cutoffs? Just wondering if I should be changing insurance companies next year if there are better options.

Hope everyone has a great day! I only have 1 more day until I can test!!!! Keep your fingers crossed that all this worrying is for nothing!

Wow, I have never heard of a cutoff like that...like you said, with so many people waiting until they are older to have kids, that seems a little crazy! But, there seem to be a lot of insurance companies that don't cover infertility at all, so at least you get some with the company you have.

Hopefully you won't need it when you test tomorrow, though! G/L and KUP!!!

Thats good news about the SA. I canīt believe that your insurance stops at 40. Talk about under pressure.
I really donīt know what age limit we have here on the health service, but DHs cousin recently had IVF at 45.
Lets hope that tomorrow brings you a BFP and you donīt have to worry anymore!

The S/A sounds great! Mike's Dr. only gave us the counts and said morphology and motility were "fine". Can the insurance company discriminate like that?? I hope your BFP comes tomorrow-- I'll prob test too!

He missed part of the sample cup! Pretty funny. I've never really thought about it before, but I guess if guys can't hit the toilet when they pee, why should that be any better?!?

Most insurance companies do NOT cover infertility treatment at all. Depending on how the doctor's code the tests, sometimes those are covered.

I've never heard of a 40 year cutoff...I would investigate that a little more if I were you.

I just got a new copy of our insurance booklet and I believe ours has a cut off date too. I was surprised at that too! You are lucky that your insurance covers infertility treatments though as a lot will not. Ours is pretty good and should cover everything up until IVF. I don't agree with the age cut off though!

On the other hand, you got some good news about the SA! I hope that you won't even have to worry about that stupid age cut off! Good luck!
