Well, I just got back from the doctor's office and not sure what to think. He didn't have much to say. I offered information, but he didn't really seem that interested. He just asked if I have regular periods (yes, like clockwork) and how long I've been trying. That was it. I volunteered info regarding my charting and he seemed very nonchalant about it. He did do a transvaginal ultrasound, which I wasn't expecting at all, to just check that everything looked okay, which it did. So, he ordered blood work to make sure that my thyroid, FSH (for ovarian function) and a CBC to find out if there is anything wrong. So now I guess I just wait and see. He said I may take Clomid to stimulate ovulation, but I think I am already ovulating based on my charts and how regular my periods are.....??????

AF was supposed to start today, but nothing yet. I did get a BFN this morning, which, I must say at this point, did not surprise me. I know you are supposed to use the FMU this early, but does anyone else have trouble waiting ALL NIGHT to pee? I seem to get up at least once just lately, so it wasn't a full night. (9pm-2:30am). I am not sure if that would be long enough to build up the hCG levels to detect it on the day of the missed period???? Maybe it just depends on the person/test because I see some women on the boards getting BFP's even BEFORE AF...???

This is so frustrating. I feel like I am on a monthly crap shoot! I didn't even chart this month or last month because I thought maybe if I took the pressure off of that daily temperature, it would just happen. No such luck!!!

I also asked the doctor if he could see anything that indicated I am pregnant now, based on the TVU. He said no, but it could just be early. He said he didn't see any gestational sac or cyst on my ovary to support a pregnancy. I know it could be early, but that just confirmed that this was another unlucky month.

I guess it isn't over until I see AF this month....
Hope all of you have a good weekend!!! And, good luck to those still testing!!!!

I ovulate on my own, but don't have a "strong" ovulation. My progesterone was low and that can lead to immature eggs or those of lesser quality. So even though you O, doesn't mean its a quality O. My midwife put me on Femara to make me O stronger and have a higher quality of eggs. Clomid is the same type of drug - so it could be helpful for you!

The bloodwork will be a great indicator of a problem if one exists hormonally.

If you don't feel like your doctor and you are on the same page, get a 2nd opinion. It's important that you health care provider and you share the same philosophy.

Thanks for the information! I didn't realize that there are varying degrees of ovulation! Maybe this will be the answer to my problems as well. I appreciate it!!! Now, I don't feel so terrible......

I was thinking the same thing about the Clomid that Becky mentioned...

The other thing I was wondering was how long have you been TTC?? The reason I asked is that I went for a consulation with my doctor after we had been TTC#2 for 6 months after a m/c and D&C. I had been doing the charting/OPKs/etc. but he ordered an HSG and a SA for dh. Much to our surprise, dh had a very low sperm count, even though he has gotten me pregnant 2x!! So, just a thought that you might want to consider at least to check that off the list of possibilities.

Finally, I agree with finding another doctor if you don't seem to agree with yours!

g/l!

Thanks! I have been TTC since January 2008. We were pregnant in Oct 2007, but m/c followed by D&C in December. My SO had a SA done last week. They only told us that his motility was 80% and his count was 44 million but nothing about morphology. We are following up on that. What is HSG? I looked in the abbreviations section and couldn't find it.... I am new to this and the abbreviations keep me spinning! Last night when I was trying to sleep the abbreviations for everything kept floating around in my head! I don't think in normal text anylonger for some of these words!

Anyway, I will continue to just keep trying. I don't know how we can keep NOT being pregnant! We don't even just time BD around O. It is just about everyday! Although we have tried to skip every other day around ovulation just to build up a good supply, but that didn't seem to make a difference either!

Thanks!

Well I agree with the other girls.

Basically, I have an ovulation problem as well. Based on my charts from before and everything it looked like I was Oing and everything. However, I had slightly irregular cycles which led to my NP referring me to an RE after 10 months of trying. I am only 22 and so is DH so our age really isnt a cause for concern. They decided to run all of the normal bloodwork on me and then do an SA on DH. ALL of my bloodwork came back normal, progesterone, FSH...everything...DH's SA was EXCEPTIONAL...the doctor went to the point of calling him superman. That when we knew that the problem had to be more with me. So after two months of monitoring they decided I was ovulating on my own, even after all the normal bloodwork. So they put me on Clomid with an ovidrel trigger shot for ovulation. I started out at 50mg of Clomid on CD3-7 with no follicular response. Basically I had no mature eggs. Then I took a second dose of 100mg of Clomid on CD12-16. I did respond to this but with only 1 mature follicle. That cycle obviously ended in a BFN. The next cycle I went on to 100mg on CD3-7. Again, NOTHING....we then followed up with a second dose of 150mg of Clomid on CD12-16, and again it ended in a BFN. So then there is this cycle. I did my final shot with Clomid and Ovidrel. I took 150mg of Clomid on CD3-7. Went in and again nothing.....the RE decided to just see what would happen if we waited a little bit longer so I went in exactly a week later....NOTHING. So they ran bloodwork and everything and were going to start me on more Clomid to finish the cycle. Well come to find out....I ovulated on my own that cycle which they thought I wasnt doing. So now I am waiting until Monday to test....so far I am really liking my symptoms and praying that this is it for us. If not we will move on to cycle 16 and month 15 of trying. Next cycle I will be doing an HSG, which I saw you asked about. Basically an HSG is a test that checks to see if your fallopian tubes are blocked. This is actually pretty common. If you tubes are blocked you literally have NO chance at getting pregnant. If you want to know more about it there is a subform in the TTC with Medical Assistance board for tests and procedures...there is ALOT of information there. You should check that board out anyways, they are all so helpful and experienced. Anyways, after that test than we are starting injectables in september followed by an IUI. So I am pretty experienced with this medical stuff. Sadly!! haha Honestly though, if you have any questions at all or concerns or just want to chat, dont be afraid to PM me!! I love sharing my experiences....

I'm happy that your Dr is doing all the tests to make sure that there isn't anything wrong. That's a great starting point. I agree however that if you aren't happy with the way your Dr is handling things, you should totally get a second opinion. Hang in there... hopefully you'll get some answers and be on your way to a BFP!!!
